Comment from Nathan Partridge
George and Mabel's remarkable 60-year marriage shines for its enduring bond. Amid their deep connection, their romantic spark has gently dimmed with time. During a TV news night, George begins to rekindle their intimacy through tender touches. However, just as things start to heat up, an unexpected pause arises when he finds the remote control. This twist adds a touch of irony, prompting us to ponder the fragile threads that interlace relationships. It offers a playful departure from the usual prose. I commend your work; you've done an excellent job weaving the intricacies of a well-developed and enduring bond, along with the subtle nuances that accompany it, including unintentional yet sometimes unnoticed distance within marriages.

So, reminds me of myself...laughing out loud! I love this story and the way it was written. I to am looking forward to a blissful love affair with my wife after we hit our 60-year mark. But for the truth of the matter I think it will be her grabbing the remote not I. Than for sharing.

Ha ha ha ha ha! That was a delightful little comedy bit. I could see that as a scene in a sitcom or romantic comedy. Brilliantly executed. Well done.

A very nicely observed domestic moment. This made me smile a lot!
Not a single word wasted - the punch line was unexpected and charming.
There is little more to say about such a gem - obviously several thoughts went through our heads - 'inappropriate' 'romantic' gratuitous' - but we were all wrong.
Good old George. Sorry, Mabel!
Well written. Good luck in the contest. I think this has a good chance.

That's funny I don't care who you are. I had a good belly laugh. Sad but true . But still really funny. If I had a six left I would have given you one. I truly really really loved this. When you have time read "Moving Day" my 100word story and tell me what you think.
