Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. I fear I am going to lose all six of my beautiful rose bushes this year. It's extremely hot here, 110 degrees or higher and in drought conditions. We're on water restrictions so can only water a tiny bit. Good luck with the contest.

My mom keeps barrels ready for rain and when they are filled she is watering the plants:) maybe you should try it:)

That's what we do. If we don't get rain by the weekend, we'll have broken a record for number of consecutive days with no rain.

I like the imagery in this piece. It's a cool ay to look at things.
Just a suggestion to change one to each in the final line. Doesn't alter the count but maybe enhances a bit more?

I liked this one. It has a melancholy mood, and you had a great image of the rose bloom losing its blossoms one by one, a very poignant symbol of someone slowly losing hope in the storm of life. Short and bittersweet. estory

Great job with your 1-5-5-9 syllabic poem. I like the rose whose petals are peeling off one after another as life's dreams fade away. The last line needs more clarification but I know you have only nine syllables.
