Very interesting and well written. It is a worthy topic for a thesis as well. I was in middle school and high school I the 1980s and I was a kind good student a popular girl for my kind friendliness really. Yet I was verbally attacked on my long school bus ride twice per day. I was extremely against the death penalty. I debated the issue on those rides every moment of those rides. "the boys on the bus" as I refer to them in my teenage daily diary entries "are horrible" but "I told them off again" etc etc
I was thinking I wish adults would do their parts so I could just fix my hair on the bus like the other girls but instead I was fielding attacks of senerios kind this
What if your grandmother (was) raped
My grandmother's dead right now but go on
What if the rapist also cut off her head Then should he get the death penalty

Then the bar would get higher and would get more grotesque if you could imagine.
I didn't want to sweat and be smelly so I didn't sweat.

If it were a Friday afternoon and I didn't care about sweat I would go off on these idiots some were taking out evil spell books from dungeons and dragons that I didn't understand but I was just informing and rebuking everything
What if YOUR grandfather raped the local waitress at the diner and cut her head off but he was framed didn't do it looked like the one who did it would you want the death penalty laws to kill him?
I was working hard on d those rides and it would be so upsetting to me it wasn't fun but it was necessary I felt they were going to vote soon and I had to act fast I thought.
So I enjoyed your story and I'm glad to see it.

Geez. You had a tough crowd of knuckleheads. I don?t think we can execute even one innocent man, even if we get a million grandmother murders correct, and be in the right.

I don't believe (true) Christianity supports the death penalty. Eye for an eye people are think Old Testament vengeance, not Christ's love (who I don't believe would forgive and set free, but forgive and keep separated from society.

This story is thought-provoking without causing emotional conflict to the reader. If it is possible to enjoy a story of an execution, I did. I usually avoid such stories. All the best for your success
