I'm unsure why the scoundrels had to be introduced, and why dhr didn't wail them a tune. I suspect you have an episode in mind to nullify their behavior. Right?
P.S. It isn't necessary. It might be best to let them pass as a side note only.

They will figure quite heavily in the story; not just now but later and later still. What you've seen of them so far is just a bit of a teaser for what's to come with them before the end.

Well written. This chapter is building to a possible confrontation, an image of a hint of harassment. The choice of language and imagery are very effective, intriguing to wonder how this story will end. Hope there is all clear sailing or kolfing ahead. Keep on writing!

Oh I hope they don't come back. A little darkness as promised. A 'whaler' made me wonder whether you'd get round to birdies and eagles. The natural world of this would fit with that.

We haven't seen the end of these fellows yet. Not by a long shot. Things were going too smoothly, and it was time to shake things up. We won't even see the end of them in the next chapter either, but I think you'll enjoy the role they come to play in the game.
