Interesting story, and I guess if you want to be a pro you must start early:) and the best results are when you learn to read too in the process. Thank you for sharing and good luck with the next chapter.

Thank you very much, Iza. Yes, the earlier the better. Some of today's pros started golfing when they were 3-years-old!

Once again your story is expressed so fluently and you're a master of dialogue as well as golf! Of course this whole story is the perfect manual for would-be golfers (sorry I'm a bit slow here) because all your technical description will be absorbed without them embarrassing themselves on the course. I like the sound of Arie -she's very cautious and fearful of offending - as opposed to the writer:) Thanks for sharing, Jim. Debbie

Ha-ha, I love it! Yes, I'm not opposed to offending, Debbie. I think you're going to love Arie's relationship with Rube when we get to it.
Thanks for your wonderful review!

What a lovely gesture for Kilian to teach the boys to read and write, it would have been rare in those days to have had a reasonable, I think most would've been fairly basic anyway, only the nobles or the rich could afford it, beautifully written my friend Jim, blessings Roy

You're correct, Roy. It was mostly the nobles who could read, but according to the research I did, perhaps as many as one in five peasants could read too. I'm guessing Kilian's mother may have learned how from the noble who owns the land they are tenants of and taught it to her children. Kilian has a good heart to want to teach Lard. There weren't any public schools in those days, unfortunately.

That?s true.

An excellent continuation and development of this fun tale. I wonder if we will return to the man who went through the portal - or are they going to meet? Hmm. Most intriguing.

A clue to that is in their names. See the character list in the author notes.
Thanks for your kind words, John.
