I have to say most of the stories in the contest are interesting, but I have to say yours is truly exceptional for the service to the country and being a federal agent.
Thank you for sharing your story. It is an important one. I wish you well in the contest and in your retirement.
Best wishes,
Mary

Thanks Mary. Everything has a price. That was the point of my piece. Still worth it.

Yes, you are right. Silly to be a blind contest.
Good job on your entry. Thank you for serving our nation, military and law enforcement. I wish all were like you.
Good luck in the contest.

Thanks Wayne. Everything has a price.
You are too kind. You?re the type of man I would have a beer with.

What a life. I think in the US they always say, 'Thank you for your service', and that is what I feel when I read this. An incredible tale, so hard to sum up in 150 words. Good luck in the competition.

Firstly, I haven't recognised you. Then again, I am fairly new. I was amazed at your life story. Linda la Plante would love to write it (in more that 150 words), and that you endured it for the full term. You must have been the right man for the job. I salute you.

Thank you for your kind words, Julie.

The winner, for sure! I think there are only a few people whose careers helped define who they really are. In less than 150 words, you did a remarkable job of telling us. Well done, and thank you for your service. I would not want you to change a damn thing. Terry.

Thanks, bud. Some thought I was bragging, but I?m way past the need for that. My point was everything comes at a price. And that price defines us, wether we like it or not.

I have read all the entries and just connected with yours the most because of your last words which I resonate with...
"Having said that I would not change a damn thing. Good for me.. I would not change a thing either...even my bad knees and back... Such is life.
Good luck in the contest,

I see that as a successful life, Lisa. If you would not change a thing then you did it right. My point was everything comes with a price and that defines who we are. I?m thinking some missed what I was trying to say. Glad you got it!

I always read whatever a writer writes carefully....sometimes there is hidden meaning behind the words...especially when someone used metaphors.
I find it hard to believe that some readers missed what you wrote?? I thought your message was loud and clear.
Would you like to be Fans, that way we can find each others work more easily..

I like how you chose to explain your career choice and the impact your career has had on your life. Good economy with the words you chose to tell your story.

Thank you for your service and for cleaning up the streets of America. We need more like you, sir. I'm so sorry for you PTSD as my military family members had several that suffered from it. They wouldn't have changed their careers either. Sending you my best today as always, and my very best wishes for the flash.

This is so well written, clear and concise and to the point, I wanted to give it six stars but discovered I was out. So sorry. I can see nothing I would want to change here. An excellent entry in the contest and probably will get my vote if I am not too late.

Thank you Miss Merri. Your vote is appreciated, but not as much as your kind words. I appreciate you!

I loved your post, not sure if all this is true, but if it is then I admire you very much for dedicating your life to protecting others and serving in a job where you could be killed at any time. I support the Police, was in the job myself for a short time and my husband retired from the job and one of my daughters is a servicing police inspector. The Police do a tough job and we should appreciate them as we sleep easy in our beds knowing they exist, a fine post and you win my vote, love Dolly x x x
