Good! Good! Good! Good! Good! And one more for his Goddam spunk! Sorry, Gretchen. I didn't know I was getting so involved in Jameson. Turns out, he's my kinda guy! And not coincidentally, he will be a better advocate for Iris when she needs him for her last illness. This is Jameson's moment of maturity! Damn, but you are good, Gretchen!

Thank you so much, Jay. I was very proud of Jameson finding his backbone. But Rome wasn't built in a day. I'm glad you like this. Gretchen

Yep, I agree, why some people will string you along is beyond, we need to get on with our lives, not wish for a solution that won't come, people will always find reasons not to commit, I hate that too. Beautifully written Gretchen, as always, blessings Roy
Typo : But I've know(n) Claire

Thanks, Roy. Unfortunately I have a high drama daughter in law. Causes so much unnecessary worry for my son. Thank you for catching the spag. Gretchen

I understand Gretchen, but provides good examples of character for you, well done
Comment from Brett Matthew West
An interesting premise with both MC's experiencing their own issues.
No need to capitalize "Cafe".
"I've know" should be I've known.
He needs to get rid of Claire and her drama-loving self.

Comment from Dolly'sPoems
There is so much wisdom in these words and jameson is calling Claire out and reminding her that he will not wait around whilst she is stalling, they are either together or not. I love this bit about his Father and he admired him for who he was and not what job he did. This is fighting talk and I enjoyed every bit of this realistic write Gretchen, love Dolly x x x

A really difficult situation and conversation in the final section of this which you handle so ably, with sensitivity and intelligence. Effective and successful. Been there, done that.

Sorry you've had first hand experience. Claire is a piece of work. Thank you for this. Gretchen
Comment from Debbie D'Arcy
As ever, an excellent and sensitively expressed point of view from Jameson, firstly in his whole approach to Iris and then in his attempts to make some headway with Claire. He is still agonizing about the divorce but trying to be decisive and do what's right. Your story, Gretchen is both moving (in respect to Iris) and relatable in the turmoil of this married couple. A very engaging read as always. Thanks for sharing Debbie

In the 5th paragraph, I love the line, "A walking think is more productive that a wallowing think." Good line. Would make a good inspirational poster.
Well, I'm glad he stood up for himself and stood up to her. It sounds like he was right, she wasn't going to change; she wanted a more affluent lifestyle, and he didn't.
I liked this chapter--he took charge.

Thank you. We tell our kids to get outside and think. More room to find solutions. Lol. I really appreciate this nice review. Gretchen
Comment from Sankey
This was a different kind of read. I have never experienced this kind of thing seeing we never had kids. I also enjoyed Jameson's analysis of Iris.
One small spag. But I've know(n) Claire long

Good for Jameson. It's time he took some control of his life. Claire is only concerned with herself. Not Finney, and certainly not Jameson. He's better off without her. Hopefully, he can pin down a visiting schedule with his son.
