I'm so relieved to see this posted. I was afraid that you were putting it on hold and might not post again. This is a fascinating story that I am really enjoying. Thank you for posting. Gretchen

"If only life could be that simple and good in these modern times." I agree with you . If only the children of today could know the freedom we enjoyed as youth. It is a crying shame they have to live in fear. Good job, Brett. Nancy:)

Oh my goodness you fell out of a moving bus and broke your leg Brett? How dreadful for you, it sounds like you were a bit accident prone, although I am sorry you had such injuries, your life story sounds like it is full of adventures, love Dolly x

I agree 100% with your final paragraph. I believe we need to go back to the simpler times and get back to God. I fear for our country and society if we don't. Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed reading.
I wanted to talk to my friend Gale Smothers. (comma after 'friend')

That brought memories back to my childhood. We didn't have a bus pick us up living out in the country, we had to walk miles. This was the early 1950s. What was the same, the people living around us on their farms, never locked their doors, either. It was just never thought about. As you say, it's sad how things change. I enjoyed reading about you in your younger years. :)) Sandra

Life was so much simpler, and would go so far as to say better, back then. Appreciate your insights, comments, and the review.
