I admit to not really being a lover of what is termed Spiritual poetry but I enjoyed this poem. Perhaps it was the actual story and the Happy ending .
In any event well done. All the best in the contest.

This is a most interesting free style poem. I believe most firmly that you cannot put God to one side to wait until you are ready to receive him... God is patient and kind, but you need to be practising all the time for the final meeting. kay

Kay, no words could be spoken with more truth, I believe It is never that God is not present, even when we stray far afield. His love for us, as children of God, is so volumeness that His son made the greatest sacrifice for mankind. But in order to receive Grace, we must assert the claim and seek forgiveness. Then the path is made ready in order that the forgiven, will at death, be enabled to have that final meeting.

Wonderfully written. I am sure this scene played out thousands of times in Vietnam, and WWI and II, Korea, and all the rest. Imagine being in a camp in Virginny when the cannons began hurtling shells causing amputations. I droll on. Sorry.
Well done.

Thanks Tom!

This poem, Seasons of Faith V, covers a familiar story of losing one's faith after leaving home and going through some tough ordeal, boot camp. Without reinforcement, we can easily lose our way.

Boy, Bill. We certainly can and do lose our way, thankfully He always leaves the Light on to find our way back.
Comment from Debbie D'Arcy
A very powerful (as portrayed in the image) and well-expressed about losing the way in youth but then later finding God and redemption. "The rigor mortis brought by shame was unwound" is a particularly memorable and impressive line capturing the whole message of hope and salvation. Well done and good luck in the contest, Debbie
