I'm sorry for your friends loss. Losing a child is the worse.
"Lucy in the Sky with Damonds" a song by the Beatles... good title. Specially since her name was Lucy and she is in heaven.

What a poignant poem. You have really dealt a hand of loss here. If I were your fiend Katy, I would feel particularly warmed and comforted by the last stanza:

Oh, that was beautiful. And how tragic - my condolences to your friend Katy and her family. That is the most grievous loss one could imagine.
A wonderful dream-like imagery and amazing visuals. I particularly enjoyed this one:
Her stars will light your path
And brighten every mile
The wind echos her laugh
Each time she sees you smile
An incredible paean to the little Lucy. I am touched by this poem and am grieving with her family.

So precious and lovely, Jessica. I'm sure this means the world to Katy and her family. it is a treasure in this life to have a friend who understands such a loss. We lost a granddaughter, Esther Grace, so we know. Perhaps she's playing with Lucy.
