This Dribble Flash Fiction contest entry is short, succinct, and humorous. Every word moved the story forward. You cleverly crafted a story that all writers on this site could easily relate to. That's one of the first rules for flash fiction...make it relatable. Best wishes in the contest.

Thanks, LJ. I hope Silas is accepted into the Dead Poets Society.

Haha, we'll only hope and pray Tom didn't get a
Return to Sender notice on the envelope, Paul.
I enjoyed your fun contest entry. Your words were
descriptive and told a good little story. Best wishes.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

Thanks, Jan. I didn't think of that. I should have had Silas use my address as the return address.

This is hysterical and can see these events occurring.
Guess the money had to go some place.
The Dead Poets Society would appreciate the cashola no doubt.
Counted fifty words so meets that requirement of the contest.

Thanks, Brett. Silas will probably get the money if he is accepted into the society.

Oh, that little piece of flash fiction made me laugh. Telling a story in so few words requires some skill, and you did a good job. Best wishes in the contest!

LOL Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. I enjoyed reading. You had the characters, problem, and a solution and used only a few words. I can't do that. I'm impressed. Good luck with the contest.

Thanks, Barb. I'll bet you could do it. You just wrote this review in less than fifty words.

A complete, meaningful story in a mere 50 words takes not only thought, but also a good grasp of words.
You did well on this contest entry.
All needed components have qualified.
Best of luck.

Thanks, John. I also have a good grasp of my rabbits foot. Should there be an apostrophe there?

I probably shouldn't have laughed at that last line. I feel horrible about it, even though it's fiction. You told the story well in fifty words. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Hello Paul,
An interesting choice of name for the one character, Silas. He was thought to be a prophet and traveled with Paul.
Alas, he must not have been a very good prophet or he would not have entered that contest.
Clever, and most perfect ending. If the judges have a sense of humor, this short dribble story might well win the contest.
Six stars for one of the best flash stories I've read on Fanstory.
Best wishes.

Thanks, Robert. I have used Silas as a pen name many times.

Hahaha, this one is really clever, Paul. Do I really need to say anymore? I'm afraid Fanstory wouldn't let me get away with it. The ending was devilishly thought out. Good luck with this little gem. Ulla:)))

Thanks, Ulla. If I do win anything in this contest, Tom will probably send my winnings to the Dead Poets Society.

I always like to see what a writer can achieve in fifty words or less. This one takes the prize! Very clever. It gets my vote. Good luck in the contest.
