Hello Brett,
I have to give you a six for this one. This was so original. What's wrong with that little dweeb of a kid though? If he knew the monster only ate big people, why call in his mom? Now who's going to cook him breakfast?
Well done buddy.
Have a blessed day.

Well, this one got my attention. I wasn't expecting that ending at all. Great story, written in a concise style with enough to have the scare factor. Using the word yanked gave it the impact that moment needed. Great flash horror fiction. Gretchen

Oh dear, Brett, what can I say? This is one scary story and will be any child's nightmare. I didn't quite see this coming. It's a great entry. All best of luck, Ulla:)))

Ah, a great twist in your story, the thoughts that tend to dwell in the minds of little ones is that monsters are devourers of children, but this is a toss up for that theory, beautifully wrtten Brett, good luck, blessings Roy

This dribble, Beddy Bye, has the proper word count and finds that those night terrors are not limited to kids and are sometimes not entirely in one's mind.

Yes, sir, I think all of us worried about the monster in the closet or under the bed for a part of our lives, and it would be a relief to learn the monster only eats adults, if I hadn't become one. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Ever feel like you were on the menu? You know, monsters do come in more than one form. Always appreciate your comments and reviews.

I enjoyed reading this flash fiction. You met the criteria for a complete story: beginning, middle, and end. Poor Mom and traumatized child, there really is a monster under the bed. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Adult eating monsters. Not a good thing. Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. I enjoyed reading. You told the story and used only a few words. That always impresses me. Good luck with the contest.

This was a fun little horror story. Proving that its possible to tell an effective scary story in a few brief sentences. Yes, I do enjoy 2 sentence horror as well.
