Funerals are no fun. Like your poem because it expresses the pain and grief a person goes through. When the bells chime, it is the end of the funeral procession perhaps?

Another fine poem, Gypsy....sadly, a sound heard thousands of times in Turkey and Syria. Unbelievable scenes of complete devastation and misery, I can't even begin to understand

I know, it's so sad. I've watched some incredible accounts, a pregnant woman gave birth before she died and the baby was rescued alive. Other people were rescued after 5 days under the rubble.

I have heard funeral bells but never understood their significance. I don't think anybody ever explained it to me before, or maybe I didn't ask. Anway, thank you for sharing this with us.

This is a very effective short poem. The lines are emotive and the poem reads well throughout. I just think that it should be 'sends' rather than 'send' at the beginning of the second line as 'bell' is singular not plural. Your use of Canterbury bells is a great idea too.

Gypsy, this is a beautiful haiku that you have written about the bells tolling at the last of a persons being. You do amazingly wonderful things by painting really good pictures and the process of writing the words. Patricia.

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

Modern Haiku impresses me for I applaud the ability to say so much in so few few words with wit, pizazz and clever satori.
Beautifully written and illustrated .
A pleasure to read.
Blessings
Shirley

We never know if the bell is for a funeral or not unless we know a funeral is taking place and your poem provided and grief-filled atmospheric here as this church hosts a funeral, love Dolly x

I like your haiku poem- good picture presentation- good word count and congratulation between lines- perhaps- flowers ease the grief- more accurate? Good job AP

No, flowers full of grief is a visual and zen concept for satori.

This is very interesting. I like the form. The words by themselves pain a picture too many of us know and have experienced.

Then again, I guess weddings and funerals have both bells, flowers and tears. (maybe grief too)

Good work.
