I enjoyed reading this short pieces on your way of thinking and how you view others. It is a healthy and open minded way of embracing people who are individual and stick out in society for their differences. This shows your generous and friendly nature. A quality I like in people.

Thank you for your kind and insightful review. This shows your generous and friendly nature as well. I too like that quality in others. Thank you for being kind and open-minded.

In order to be "free" of conformity one must first be wealthy. Even at that freedom requires the ability to withstand a million bee stings and not succumb to social pressure. I imagine it's a very lonely and not so bright place to be.
And while in the end we all die alone even with friends and family surrounding us, the truly "free" die alone.
Peace be with you, Jesse. Life and death are complicated. :))

Thank you, Gloria, for your interesting and unique view of those who are truly free. I am not sure I agree with the idea that one needs to be wealthy to be free. If one is a nonconformist they are free of constraints even if they are poor or middle class. Thank you for sharing and I wish you peace as well.

I love the unique wording of "unable to label"! You are on to something! As a teacher, we spend so much time talking about gifted and special needs or additional needs or this syndrome and that syndrome or highly something (please hear me right in that this is important for our context) but there is something really beautiful in dropping labels and boxes and accepting the individuality for the person that they are, right where they. Because after all the boxes are tight and don't always fit and the labels can fall off or become so superglued to us we forget that we can actually take them off and just be YOU. Love your message here! That Collie flower is a bit hallucinogenic but again it's unique!

Thank you, Karyn, for sharing your teaching experiences and for sharing how difficult it is to break out of the mold of a box when we are labeled special or different when we are growing up.
Thanks for accepting the collie flower for what it is and for making my day with this review!

I can see why this is ranked in the top ten for February. It is very well spoken and somewhat rhythmic in its dynamic.
I liked this stanza because it is great advice:
When I find someone who I see as unique, I tell them to be who they are and not someone else's view of who they ought to be.
Well done!

Be yourself and be true to yourself. Don't try to be something you're not. Perfect as you wrote:
"tell them to be who they are and not someone else's view of who they ought to be."
Best of luck in the contest.

When I first began writing poetry, I wrote a poem, called free to be me. The first couple lines are all of these years. I've struggled to be what someone else wanted, but not me, when, facing the mirror what I saw, was always one who was bound by the law telling my minds eye, SR Jesus face, and truly understood his love and his grace. Now I am free to be all I can be a wife, a mother, a friend and even me. I put up the whole poem just because I have it memorized. When I wrote the poem, I took it to my pastor, and he. You need to keep writing and writing I did. I have no written since 19 85/2000 forms and summer published in a book that I recently had published. The new book is called a masterpiece for him and it has 100 spiritual poems in it, and it can be used as a devotional for those who are so inclined. Patricia.

Your lovely poem resonates with me, grandmother to an autistic young man. I would label him as loving and tenderhearted, who sees the world through the eyes of God. I love being in his company.

I enjoyed reading "Unable to Label". It is unique and clearly, we could all learn from your message. Performing Random acts of kindness is a beautiful motto to live by. Sometimes that act allows us to see better those who are unable to label.
Well done Jesse

Thank you, Janet, for your insightful review.
You have seen spot on what I was trying to say in this and I am grateful for showing an example of how we can learn from performing random acts of kindness to show how to see those better who are unable to label.
Thanks for your kind words, my friend!

The unique individuals are the ones who stand out and do not blend in like so many people want to. They are usually the ones who get remembered as well and help change history. Bless their differences.

You make an excellent point. The ones who change history are the ones who stand up for their differences and do not conform to what others want them to do.

I enjoyed reading your words, they are poetic prose. I agree, love those individuals who walk to a beat of a different drum. We are unique and do not always need to conform. Love your pic!

I agree we make a difference by not conforming to the beat of the drummer of the others who want things to stay the same. I am glad you liked my picture I thought it helped to get the message across.
