you. Your contest entry read well, Rhonda. I enjoyed reading it.
You detailed how many people feel when they have to have surgery.
Your words were well chosen and created great imagery. Even in
an anxious state, you were able to understand the procedure. The
fact about not signing the papers earlier was a big mistake on the
part of the doctors. In the end, I'm sure your remembered and let
them know a thing or two.

Hi Jan! I?m so glad you saw my post and that you were able to review it.
I?m glad the imagery stood out, it was what I was trying to convey.
They really did mess up on the paperwork, which is odd and may be why he was being so defensive. I didn?t say anything else to them. Pain and morphine will mellow the tongue, lol.

This was all too real for me. I'm lying in bed right now recovering from surgery and went through that while waiting game. They stuck me in a corner and my 1130 surgery started at 1. An extra hour and a half in a corner, wondering what was happening. Eesh.

Your story brought to mind the many anxious people heading to surgery as an RN. Everyone tries to put on a brave face. Most people seem calm on the outside, but you know they have to have a runaway mind. You did a great job with your story. Good luck in the contest. Shirley

I like the way you started out with the ticking of the clock and the way it made you impatient. Unfortunately, the medical staff has to inform you of certain things. Hi Robert, you may have been one of the only ones to catch the tongue-in-cheek aspect to the story. I can always count on you to get the undertones.
I figured some of you would remember all that mess I went through. The bull accident didn?t stop my writing, but, somehow the other stuff did. Time to slough it off and get busy.
I caught some of Pam?s work. Time for a Robert poem!

Hi John! I was way too nervous to take them to task, but I did let them know I had expected to go in sooner. I mean, it was 7 am, it?s not like anyone was ahead of me.
I did get better at it later, though I?m not sure that?s much to brag about. In 3 years, I had 11 operations. I think I did my share in supporting the medical profession, lol. Time off for me now! Healthy as a horse.
