I'm not sure Dick is going to make in the writing field. Gina's inspiration certainly went in an unexpected direction. If Richard isn't the dog then he must be Dick himself since Dick is the more formal name of Richard. I like Rosey question. Why did he name the dog Rickard?

You know, Beth, I just tacked that ending on at the last minute. I had intended to go with the dog story, then, I added the question.

Haha! I love this one, Bill. It took us on a ride with humor and a dash of spice for heat, ending with a double twist. A perfect write and an excellent read. Best, JohnC

Lol. Hmmm. This gives me an idea. I wonder if we had a challenge to take one of our stories and rewrite it as - um, a kid's story??? Thanks for the funny take on inspiration and interpretation that transforms while writing.
Dick smiled and hunched." (no end quote)

Thanks, Helen, for the kind review. I think Dickie left that quotation mark there.

😂 Gotta watch for characters named Dickie. They are tricky.

A nice twist at the end that brings a smile to the reader's face. It was clever to use a passing friends potential "gossip" as the jumping off point for your story when you had writer's block. It works. If word count is not restricted, it would be nice to see this story fleshed out a little more.

haha. This is a fun story about a silly story. It's either a human being scrubbed by a robot or a dog scrubbed by a human master. Thanks for sharing.
Well done.

I revised the ending a bit to make it clear.
