Mike, I wish I had six stars for this wonderful story you have written so well. You used great descriptive words and it almost had me in tears, because there are some little boys and mothers that don't get things anytime of the year. You are so right about what we can do to be a Santa to a child in need. Thank you for sharing. May God bless you and Wanda always! Teri

It's a great updated take on the older story you wrote, just as poignant, I think I like this one a little bit better. The details in the scene setting, the old beat up Jeep, the stingy store management who won't give a Christmas bonus because of the pandemic, the scrooge like landlord, the face of the child looking out of the window at the neighbor's Christmas decorations; all these jump off the page. It's great writing, with lots of polish, and I think you should try and find a publisher for it. Maybe a Christian magazine or something. It's wonderful. estory

You're absolutely right, kids like dear little London don't deserve to go without while many have much, these are the wonderful stories that you hear of. This is superbly written Mike, such a great story, making the last $2 to someone she thinks needs a feed, could it be an Angel? Well done Mike, blessings Roy

Every nice and well written. The ending was predictable, because the spirit of Christmas is predictable. This was a heart warming story, a reminder that we can all be a Santa to a family in need. Thank you for sharing.

This is a lovely story Mike. It is in the true spirit of Christmas. I can not get into the spirit of Christmas because there is so much sadness going on in our lives this year.
Your story did give me that warm glow for a while though. Well done. I loved the story. Nancy:)

This is how I explained Santa to my oldest son when he asked if he was real. I said Santa doesn't always wear red nor have a beard. Santa is the one who gives without receiving, who loves without strings attached and doesn't wait to be thanked. I am being Santa to a friend who lives across the country. She has no family, lives on a small fixed income. I am going to give her a wonderful Christmas and I'm so excited. I have been the recipient of great kindness over the years and I'm happy to pass it on. Great story. Gretchen

I was touched by this lovely story. It's true, Santa is so much more than a jolly, elfin legend to charm children. I love the fact that this generous woman gave her last two dollars to a man on the street and was rewarded by (Spirit) I suppose, so that they had a wonderful Christmas.

This is a delightful, heartwarming story with a powerful message. It is always possible to help someone because there is always someone with less than you have. Even though your second paragraph told the reader where the story was going to go, it was compelling following Lily's thoughts and actions. Your story flowed smoothly to a satisfying ending. Best wishes in the contest.
