As always, another of your very touching poem that are always a pleasure to read. Even with all the health issues and despair in faith there is hope. Thanks for sharing.

Hope is the glimmer of the candle in the distance, always providing us with a safe, peaceful spot to rest and be assured. I love the poem and what you shared. Only recently, I found that glimmer once again and I am blessed to be striving toward a better tomorrow once again. Thank you for sharing.

Hugs, Carol

Perfectly inspired by Jesse's post! Love your moni rhymed stanzas and quite adept at framing your theme...

Hope, Faith, Absence of hope and patience/acceptance

I disagree with the reviewer that maintained hope is born from pain, necessarily.

I look in the eyes of an expectant mother and see hope...

Or the eyes of a child sleepily awakening to another beautiful dawn...

It is a conscious effort to maintain hope during trying times...

(I've recently been hacked and cleaned out financially!--I know a thing or two about choosing hope!(

Still? The kindness of others has buoyed my hope.

There are many more good people than evil...

Emi!y Dickinson wrote:

"Hope" is the thing with feathers -
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -

And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard -
And sore must be the storm -
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm -

I've heard it in the chillest land -
And on the strangest Sea -
Yet - never - in Extremity,
It asked a crumb - of me."

Love your poem!

Thank you so much for the gift of your friendship, your kind and inspiring words. That you can do this in the face of the stunning wrong that has been done to you, speaks volumes about who you, yourself are as a loving and forgiving human being. Be assured the God that sees all, knows all and does naught but good to those who believe in him, will not let this wrong go unpunished. I love you, all of us here at FanStory love you and pray for the justice you deserve.

This is a good one, Nolan. I think you could trim up the meter a little. The third stanza is a really good one. You have written some great advice inn your notes.

The love of the Lord and Hope helps so many of us
here on the earth go on.
The effort of carrying on for
our families, our faith, and
with the beauty of hope is
paramount in our lives.
Superb writing, nomi!

Insightful. Well thought out. Truthful.
I would have written some lines differently. So what Tom; this ain't your piece and Nomi338 has won many first places, and has been published.
Unfair for not fair, etc., etceteras. I love it tho as it was.

Thank you, and please know, I have never been so full of myself that I would be unwilling to hear and entertain the thoughtful suggestions of fellow writers, thinkers and planners. So, let's hear what you got.

Yours are fine on a second read though i would have ended line three with unfair and nothing for naught. Also lines 11 and 12 seem to me to have1 or 2 many syllables. Be well.

Your suggestions have value, However I was not concerned with syllable count, I was going with feelings more than style.
