They are beautiful birds, but they can empty a bird feeder in minutes. I love watching in the air over an open field. What a wonderfully written poem.
Good luck in the contest!
Have a great day, and God bless.

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing. You are right, that they seem a little greedy at times, too. Thank you for the well wishes and the stellar comments.

This acrostic poem, WYOMING STARLINGS INGRACIATE THEMSELVES TO YOU, follows the vertical first-letter theme and gives an informative and lively description of the bird.

Thank you for sharing. I really enjoyed your poem. Very nicely done. Your descriptive words and phrases were written so nicely to make the poem easy to read and so enjoyable. Loved the illustration as well.

Enjoyed your observant poem about these hearty little birds. My favorite lines were:
"How they find strength in numbers, beat back numbness,
Even nullify November winds,"
Best wishes in the contest!!
Questions/Comments:
In cold scarcity they thrive, (did you want to repeat scarcity in the same stanza?)
Neatly crowded, poised for each cherry-blue sunrise. (is cherry-blue a color?)

Thank you for your observant and kind review. I will take a look at the word 'scarcity' again after work today. They always impress me as surviving on next to nothing, even when other birds have taken shelter, though. I was thinking winter skies in Wyoming and Utah, where I live, have a tendency to look both reddish and blue at the same time when snow storms are moving in, just before sunrise.

I loved your endearing descriptions of this common bird and your tribute to them is warm and welcoming. These birds are friendly and tenacious and survival is hard for all birds in the winter, you honed in and made these birds feel special, much enjoyed Crystie, a pleasure to read, love Dolly x
