They tore his red robe from his body and nailed him to a cross because the we're afraid of change, they crucified him and put him the cave with other saints bodies. It was on East he arose from the grave making a believer of them all.As you all know there is more to this story but you can read it yourself when you read the Bible for your own self.

Hi Roy,
A very powerful and interesting poem about incident which many may not be familiar with.
A stellar feat in relating this biblical incident in poetic form with clarity, reverence and in such a way we can all grasp the magnitude of this
occurrence.
Blessings

You did a great job, Roy, with this poignant poem.
Though sad, it shows the sacrifice Jesus made and
how he died for our sins. Your words were well thought
out and placed readers right there in the midst of the
crucifixion. The notes were super and added another layer
of information to your poem.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

Thank you for writing about how the Lord's victory over sin and death was evident through the ripping of the thick temple curtain from top to bottom. It is significant that it was a seamless garment that Jesus wore. It could not be torn and that parallels the temple curtain. Well said!
Question:
because the light holds captive, lust.ok (did you mean to leave the 'ok' here?)

Again and again, I say you must have been anointed with the Holy Spirit muse, Roy. I go back and read each stanza over and over, just to take in the deeper meaning of each. You have that way of making me delve deeper into my faith. To ponder the immense sacrifice made for me, and for all mankind.

Your skillfully written, deeply reverent poem vividly describes what literally happened when Jesus died on the Cross and its significance for humanity
and the cause for joy.

A beautiful tribute to the victory Jesus gained as He died on the cross and brought freedom to us all.
Your well thought out lines allow us, like the Bible, to look deeper than just the words to find the meaning within.
I absolutely love this poem, my friend,
Rhonda

Roy,
This is such a fascinating topic. The fact of Jesus wearing this seamless garment and the associations we can make to the High Priests' garments. I need to do a deeper study on this one -- thanks for the reminder!

Thank you for sharing this poem and the author's notes with us. I had not heard the story about the curtain before. It's new to me. I appreciate the education. Another witness to the greatness of God.
