I had to pause and listen to Waylon. LOL Thank you for sharing with us. I can't imagine the trip back to Hermitage Hall will be pleasant.
I cannonballed down the avenue for six city blocks like a flame about three feet high scroched my tiny hind end and my blond head (scorched??? )
"Got'cha!" The lawman said with a wide smirk on his face. (lower case 't' on the, but I would write 'said the lawman with a wide smirk on his face.' just a suggestion, either is correct.)

I loved this. Found myself holding my breath several times in this chapter. Since finding out this was biographical, it has upped the anti. I loved your description of the chase. Very action packed. Great job on this. Gretchen

It's not often someone can either outrun a pursuing a malevolent in larger number and resource, but occasionally they might, but you didn't this time, but I suspect you hate being retained so much, that you might try again, and I'm sure the opportunity will arise, well done Bret, great post, blessings Roy
