What a stunning point of view! Of course we can all relate to not wanting to disappoint our father, and as parents, we know how much we love our children, despite things they may do wrong.
Do we not know, then, that God, our Heavenly Father, will never forsake us?

Such a sad, heartbreaking picture! I thought the poem was much more happy and optimistic, and carried a good message too. God does not reject His children! We can be sure of that. Your rhymes were excellent and the meter totally musical. A nice poem to read and one full of things to make us think. Excellent! MM

Here we live at a time where we reject the stranger and separate mother from child, yet many of us say we live according to His teachings. We want to be known as a welcoming nation, but only for certain people. We want to protect the unborn, but they are not our problem when they arrive. We abandon many to poverty and abuse.
Your powerful and deeply reverent words are a reminder:
"One's house should be a refuse strong."
Best wishes and many blessings to you for reminding so many the true meaning of Chrisianity.

This was very nice. I like that you backed up your words with scripture.
This is a poignant capitulating piece of work.
Well done! Keep it up!

"Nothing causes more consternation in a group of hypocrites than one honest man." - Albert Einstein
So many "Christians," say that the only way to get to heaven is to accept Jesus as their personal savior and that good works will not get anyone into heaven. If they had TRULY accepted Jesus as their savior, they would gladly do the good works that they say are not required.

You?re right, that?s what James says, faith produces good works, but good works won?t save you, grace through faith. (Ephesians 2:8-9) but it is a little more complex than that, the truth is only God and the person truly know.. The flesh is powerful Thomas. Thank you so much my friend, blessings Roy

Your skillfully written, deeply reverent poem conveys a powerful message about how undeserving we are of God's unique love. The only good in us is Jesus.

This poem, Would You Reject Your Child?, speaks to the grace and mercy of an all-powerful God Who has saved those who sought His face and believed His promise. Nice poem.

Wonderful poem, my friend :) And very heartfelt. I can feel the emotions in your writing.
My favorite:
For Jesus said, I'll never leave,
I'll not forsake, your soul won't grieve
Though children stumble as they walk,
God's hand protects, though shadows stalk.
Always your fan,
Shana :)
