Thank you for sharing your mom with us. I can tell she was a huge influence in your life. I just scolding myself earlier today, because I haven't worked on my genealogy for over two weeks. I need to get going.

Thank you Barbara, I appreciate you reading about my mother. There were times I wanted to be free and not have to have my life controlled by her but as time passes the more I apprecaite her.

Back in those days a lot of births were "home" births, especially in the country.
Re-married after 6 months. That was quick even for a "marriage of convenience".
Getting Lucille drunk for fun, not good. Too bad her mother did not know what was going on.
"food treadles" should be foot treadles.
"Every since" should be ever since.
Nice piece on your mother. Sure she would have appreciated you writing it.

I thought this was well written. And I love how you are sharing history here. Might be wise to do a little showing. Use dialogue and share a scene from her past. While it may mean "inventing" a little that's okay in this type of story. That way it reads more as a story and not a history breakdown. But outside of that I thought this was wonderful. Very interesting and well written.

It looks like your mother had an exciting and enjoyable start to her married life. I come from a family of twelve so my youngest sister is an aunt to a niece the same age as her. Large families are fun. Nicely written.

Thank you so much for the review and comments. I always envied those who had sibblings. I'm not sure I'd want as many as my mom or as you had. I am an only child. My mother wanted more.
