Is this an ending now? It felt like an ending but you didn't say it. I like the new epiphany of adding two younger version of Fanny and Juniper coming back as ghosts to watch the burial ceremony. It's a very beautiful and visually pleasing scene.
Well done.

No, Lisa, there is one more scene. It's already written, but I'm just waiting to garner enough shekels to promote it before I post. Probably in a week from next Saturday. Meanwhile your words make me very happy.

I can see using younger actresses for the ghosts of Fanny and Juniper, but I would definitely be against a younger actress playing the role of Fanny. That's the only way it would be authentic. Besides, with so many older women who would be great in the role, I'd hate to see it be given to someone younger. The Pastor is a bit long-winded. It's interesting that he says he disapproves of Fanny and Juniper being buried together. Then he says it's up to God to determine who will enter the gates of Heaven. Another revelation that he was in love with Fanny but saw that her heart was with Juniper. Great to have ghosts of Juniper and Fanny on stage for this. judi

Good! It seems you approve of it. That makes it all fine, in my estimation. I have a lot of respect for your reviews. Perhaps you are right about the age of the actresses. I've seen young squirts be Hollywoodized to look ancient, but the moment they speak, Hollywood wants to make them all appear like they're dying of thirst, with all their smacking of leathery lips and throats that beg to be cleared. I'll give that part some serious thought. Again, thank you, Judi.
-
You're very welcome. Thanks so much for not taking offense at my thoughts. I think it's okay for a young actress to play a role in which she ages as time passes, as Liz Taylor did in "Giant." It's been my experience in local theater that the director will always go with someone in the correct age category. judi
-
That's good to know, Judi. I'll use it for future reference.
-
Maybe the professionals view it differently, but most of the community theaters I've worked with really pay attention to the age requirements. judi

Well, another great accomplishment. I must say, it was much easier to read without "FannySpeak" but maybe not as interesting.
Am I to assume that Fanny and Juniper had a "thing?" That they were lovers? Because that would be a sad ending to an otherwise wild saga. Sad probably only to me because of my differing views, but sad, nonetheless.
Even if so, you still earn the five-stars because I never rate based on views or opinions. I may state my objections to them, but I don't let my opinions affect my rating.
You know what they say, "Opinions are like A__holes, everybody has one." Well, that's the beauty of America, we are all privileged to have our own.
Well done.

Yes, Fanny and Juniper loved each other in a way that had nothing to do with sexual abandonment or flouting their lifestyle in the face of the status quo. They simply went about their lives without concern for the social or spiritual footprint they might be leaving. I've known many such couples, and my judgment never goes beyond their happiness. However, I cringe at their younger counterparts who insist upon parading their relationships on the world stage, making them political events.
Gary, always appreciate your reviews (and your views) and especially since you can separate the two. It's not how much of a reprobate, in your eyes, that a character is, but how well he or she is depicted by the writer. I can live with that. I'm just stoked that you go on reading me. I've already given you my reviewer vote for this month or you'd be getting one today.

Jay, I think that is the most appreciated response I have ever had to a review of mine. I am so glad you feel that way. And you compliment me so nicely. Thank you again for the reviewer vote, now I wish Tom would allow two reviewers votes per member per month. LOL

I hate to see this end. I really enjoyed reading this and was not overly surprised by this ending. I could see it happening. Not sure it was going to happen but could see the possibility.

We just keep learning more and more about Fanny and Jupiter as this goes. This story reminds me of the book Fried Green tomatoes where the two main female character loved each other. It is amusing that the pastor really doesn't want to be a part of this and that gets up and leaves.

The pastor got up and left because he was defending his role as pastor. And the moment he couldn't do that ... his defenses were destroyed. At least, that was what I was trying to portray. Thank you, Beth, as always, for your support here.

Wow, Jay, this is powerful! Your scene description is so vivid, it took me right there. The addition of the 'ghosts' of Fanny and Juniper watching the proceedings is brilliant. And imagining the look on the pastor's face when Maples told his story and the reason for the double coffin just made me smile. It says so much.

Hi Jay, What a wonderful and unusual ending to it all. Their wish is going to be granted, with or without the priest's blessing and I couldn't agree more. It's a lovely request however unusual it may be.
Now, I am aware there is a third part to the epilogue, and I will have to wait and see what that brings. Ulla:)))

Thanks, Ulla. Your support means so much to me, especially when capped by the six stars. Yes, the third part is written and ready to post. I just have to wait to harvest a few more review-shekels before I can promote it. Bless you, dear!

I loved this scene, Jay. The fact that fanny and Juniper attended in the background was a great added touch to Pastor Rabbins opposing their wishes of being buried in the same coffin. It made for a touching ending to the scene. Best, JohnC

Buried in the same casket. Now that is togetherness forever. You did a great job as always, and I'm always ready to read more of this story. Have a blessed Sunday. Shirley

Simply stunning, Jay. This was amazing. I can imagine the chagrin of the Pastor Rabbins, he obviously didn't know about that! Lol. I loved that you brought a young Fanny and Juni together as angels, that's what they were, angels, and dressed in their white flowing dresses, God knows they are good people. The Pastor might have a few questions to answer when he arrives at the gate! I can't say enough about this chapter in your epilogue, it has started my day off with a happy smile. Well done, my friend, and now I'm waiting for that final part with a smile and a tear. Love and hugs, Sandra xx
