I loved this story. Trepidation of the unknown grows more wildly in some than others. Most times, very mysterious things turn out to be everyday objects.
I noticed one incomplete sentence that could use some clean-up. "Focusing all of my mystical powers through squinting my eyes, and nothing." -- I saw nothing?
