Juniper gave up her life, not just because of her father's death, which she had accepted, but she wanted to carry out her mother's cause. I love the inclusion of Uncle Pete's lack of education and illiteracy paired with brilliance and genius. Generally, an illiterate person can neither read nor write. We know Uncle Pete could not read, but was able to write a pretty decent lengthy letter. Did someone write it for him?

In any event, Miss Fanny has to reveal whether Elizabeth knew Juni's plan. As it is, Elizabeth denied her daughter an education. Did she also allow her daughter to be doomed? Can't wait to find out if Elizabeth used Juni just as Uncle Pete had.

You are reading this just as I hoped all the readers would. Elizabeth carried her guilt to her grave about not allowing her daughter the education she should have had. That was explained in the letter given to Fanny at Elizabeth's bequest. As far as uncle Peter goes, he was not actually illiterate. He could only write phonetically. That was a difference between Fanny's dialect (as shown in her speech) and Peter's as shown in his writing. You can see a difference in them if you compare. Lorraine you are a dream as a reviewer. I love it when a reader burrows deep into the subtext as you have.

As if holding one's breath to tighten a belt, waiting for what's becoming more obvious. There are many good writers on this site. But there is only you whom I would like to follow along and peek over your shoulder to learn from your masterful technique and delivery. It's always a pleasure! Thanks for sharing.

I have pasted a very LOUD, though very SINCERE, thank you to replace the long and personal reply to your and 9 other compelling reviews that I had patiently (and I felt thoughtfully), completed all in a row, only to have them evaporate in the ether-web when I pushed a button other than complete! It's either paste this inane excuse or throw my computer through the sliding-glass door of my office and then borrow my son's computer to send in my resignation to FanStory. I was that frustrated. Not pasted, though, is my heartfelt thanks for the six stars and -- oh my God! -- a compliment that will keep me six inches off the floor the rest of the evening! Bless you, Ric!

Another great chapter, Jay,
I think having Fanny at the funeral isn't how things happen in life's bouncing bubble. I love how you took us through the roundabout with uncle Peter and his rhetoric. Fannys repeating the words in her head hundreds of times is who Fanny is and not only fortified but added to her character and what she deemed important to her story. (Just my opinion). However, I would've loved it any way you wrote it, Jay. Best, JohnC

Bravo, Jay! I thought that was brilliant of you to break the dialogue between the reporter and Miss Fanny by including the letter from Pete. Poor Miss Fanny. Jay, you did a great job. You really made me feel her pain. I can read the work that went into this script. You're an excellent creator of stories. Nothing is ever on here like yours. You choose very unique subject matters which makes reading you a pleasant adventure.

I like how you break the dialogue up with a letter now and then. This Uncle Peter certainly was able to manipulate Juniper using her emotions for her mother's desire for justice. I think you gave us lots of reasons to explain why Juniper did what she did.

The story fast approaching some incriminating evidence, and a way, of opening up the apparent provocative and manipulative treatment that Juniper received in her life from this Peter cove, the narrative is gathering an ending, beautifully written Jay, blessings Roy

I really love Fanny's accent. I got really kick out of the Fanny described Peter. She really had a colorful way of putting it. She despised the man. Peter was clever the way he manipulated Juniper. He thought the man should killed, he didn't want to be the one who would pay for doing the deed himself. His letter was a riot but it did show it was amazing for someone uneducated. I'm still loving the story.

I'm not sure I agree with you. I think Fanny attempting to remember it from what Juni told her is great. Who knows??? No matter what, I really enjoy reading.

Wow, what an emotional scene this is, Jay! I think I was holding my breath all the way through. Well maybe it just feels like it. :) I don't know that it would have been better to have Fanny hear all of this first hand, at the funeral. Speaking for myself, I can replay conversations in my head so often, it's as if I lived the stories myself.

Amazing writing!

I do want to personally thank you, though, for the six stars. Especially when you know that holding your breath can bring on nosebleeds! LOL

Jay, you?re so dramatic! Lol I do understand your frustration, though and I appreciate this reply just as much. You are most welcome, my friend, and I suffered no nosebleeds during the read. 😀🤗

That was brilliant, so much emotion, I was so in there with Fanny. I also think she's quite ill, and I'm with the reporter and worry about her. But she wants to finish her story. That awful uncle Peter, what a rotten man he was. The reporter was right, he is a genius, in getting what he wants. This was such an excellent chapter, my friend. I can't wait to read on. :)) Sandra xx

The fact that you felt this was worthy of a six, though, I want to personally thank you, Sandra. You are always one of my front-line supporters.

I've had that happen to me a few times, so now I do one at a time and save it before going to the next one. It takes a lot longer, but until this problem is sorted, that how I'll have to do it. I know exactly how frustrated you felt.
As for being one of your 'front-line supporters' it's your compelling writing that keeps me there. I think I've mentioned how much I love Fanny. xxxx
