Call me simple, but I like really good one liners.
"I failed math so many times at school, I can't even count." I copied this one from Google because I couldn't come up with one quick enough. But good ones are uplifting and cute. Maybe 'cute' isn't up some folks' alley. Anyway...

You have a good entry for the contest and a good topic. One liners can be pretty good if the response to them is creative and funny. That isn't always the case. You make that point well in your revised cliche. Good luck in the contest.

I genuinely can't tell if this is aimed at traditional 'one-liners' - ie jokes that are short and snappy - or the recent spate of one-line writing contests on site, which are usually difficult to review because we're trying to fill the box up with enough characters t-
lol, just kidding - couldn't resist :-)

I have to say that this one has me stumped as i have no idea what cliche this started out as. I was also puzzled if this was a question rhetorical or otherwise or a statement. (if it's any kind of a question, it should have a question mark).
