What a wonderful story. Your wife and I share the same taste in movies. It was wonderful to set time aside for each other, and I'm glad you're keeping up the tradition. I wish I had a six for you. Have a wonderful day. Shirley

I think your Zoe had very good taste in movies and I love the Marvel movies. Do you know Stan Lee had a cameo role in every one, even the cartoon series. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing. Have a great weekend.

I love your stories about your wife Zoe. I'm so sorry for the passing of your wife. Love Actually is one of my favorite movies. I know critics say it's creepy with the best friend in love with his friend's wife, but I still like it.
I worked at a movie theater when I was in high school, and one night a couple came in with a young boy, maybe 5-6. They bought tickets to an R rated movie, the title escapes me, but I know it was inappropriate for a child. I told the couple it contained violence and nudity thinking they were unaware and their son was too young. That was not the case and the father said proudly "my kid saw Texas Chainsaw Massacre."
When the family went in I looked at the other girls working and I said "I feel sad for that kid. What kind of parent brags about seeing Texas Chainsaw Massacre?"
Movies have always been a part of my husband and myself life. Covid changed a lot of that and we didn't see a movie in a theatre for over two years, but Netflix, Amazon Prime, and HBO we've turned to watching from home. Because my husband controls the remote, I get no warning for intermission, but I get over it.

that is a wonderful story! and you told it so well. I'm sorry for your loss of Zoe. You made me smile over your descriptions of her and I was most impressed over your acquiescence over movie selections. What a nice man. And, of course, your last line was a definite winner.

I enjoyed reading this story that shared a glimpse into your love affair and relationship with your wife Zoe. Movie night sounds like a great idea for bringing a couple together. I'm sad you no longer have Zoe, but glad you still think of her when you watch evening movies. Best wishes in the contest.

Hello Terry,
Happy Hour Movie - It's a nice piece of Biographical Non-Fiction having lucid as well as perfectly matching the theme phraseology, captivating flow throughout from the very beginning up to the end, and beautifully depicting the lovely part of your life after Retirement plus the sadness you felt after Zoe's departure to heavenly abode.
It's just like a LIVE description, and IMPRESSIVE presentation!
BEST OF LUCK in the contest.

There is great humour here as well as the obvious sadness of losing the woman you loved. I can relate to this post immensely and I think it is a wonderful story with just the right amount of pathos. Good luck in the competition and well done Kindest regards Kevin.

I thought it was a great little memory post, one of those slice of life things that celebrate culture in our lives. It celebrates one of the things that add flavor in society, the movies, and it also can illustrate or articulate many things about personalities. The kind of movies we like or don't like says much about what kind of people we are. Are we into action adventure? Romance? Comedy? I also share Zoe's judgement that Connery was the best James Bond. He had the right mix of rake, hero, gentleman, patriot and comic. In his movies, it wasn't the gadgets but how he used them. estory
