Nice read and very enjoyable. Flows well. You asked about comments on grammar. Chapter 25, 2nd para - first - not really needed, and 5th para -back - no comma needed. Chapter 26 - 5th para - grabs = grab, 6th para - Oh - no comma before Mary, 9th para - moments = comma after, 10th para - a - before - disturbing, 14th para - excitement, and Miles? 17th para - myself? 18th para - course, 30th para - disappeared - no comma - 31st para - dear? plus comma before rather than after and - 33rd para - been? - 37th para - one = no comma = and opened = no comma - 38th para - Lady Brandon. Do - 39th para - selfishness = no comma - 41st para - Charles? - 42nd para - teas = no comma after - 44th para - wants -not- want.
Hope this helps or just shout at me, but your chapter is a good read.

Hi Scott, thank you so very much for this detailed review. I'm going to copy and paste it to my MS Word copy, and do the edits there. I'll only make more if I try to do it here! I really appreciate you doing this.
I'm even happier that you enjoyed reading my chapter. It's not easy to come into a story without knowing what it's about. I see you are a new member, welcome aboard! You'll love it here. Warm hugs my new friend. :) Sandra xx

No problem, just glad you didn't shout.

I always ask for edits, it's the only way to learn and become a better writer. I'm afraid some don't like to be told there are errors in their work. If you mark down lower than a five, you have to say why, and offer a suggestion, or a correction. The majority of us old timers know this, but some of the newer members really believe their work is perfect. You'll never convince them otherwise. You must review as you see it deserves, that's what it's about. If someone doesn't like it, just move on and review the next one. 😊

Thanks for this Sandra

You are very welcome. Scott.

You did a great job, Sandra, with this interesting chapter.
Yes, the found letter will have major implications for Margot,
Bessie, and all involved. The letter contains several clues
about the family dynamics at the time, and sets up motives
for several individuals. Miles' mother (and I use that term
lightly) was a conniving manipulator). I figured the butler,
Jenkins, was part of the conspiracy all along. As Gwen and
Jenkins discussed the names in the will, more clues appear
about how the poison was done--who, what, how. Bessie
overheard some great incriminating conversation from Gwen
and Charles. They both know their threats to each other are ones
they want act on. . .yet. Who knows, though. Maybe something
will set one off. Now, Mr. Crankey joins the two of them. Wonder
what they'll discuss. . . I'm sure Bessie will give us an earful. It
will be interesting to read of Miles' reaction the letter. What will
he do and why?
Thanks for sharing. . . looking forward to the next chapter, Jan

Aw Jan, thank you. You really get into my story and can see more than some what's happening. We are getting closer to the big revelation, and what a shock that's going to be for Miles. Thank you so much, my friend, for another lovely review and the golden star, you know how much I appreciate your reviews. Love and hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Clues are bubbling over from every nook and cranny and I'm sure it won't be long until you've twisted our thoughts into a depatterned web with all the treacherous deceit. Thanks for sharing.

Lol! As if I would!! Bessie and Margot have some sorting out to do now, and I's thinking it's time to bring Miles in on it! The clues are there. Let's see how they get on.
Thank you so much, Ric, for this sixth star along with your lovely review. I really appreciate them both. Love and hug, Sandra xx

Suspects everywhere! There's even the possibility of a classic 'the butler did it!' ending! I think you have had quite a bit of fun writing this chapter! Much enjoyed, as always.

Thank you so much, Tony. Yes, I did enjoy this chapter. Now I have to let Bessie and Margot see who they can elliminate from the list of possible murderers. Thank you for the sixth star, my friend. Warm hugs, Sandra xx
I'm sorry I'm late replying, I'm not feeling too good at the moment.

This is a very revealing chapter with too many people wanting to kill Meg. What a lot of scoundrels your story has. Margot is very lucky to have Bessie as a sidekick. I'm looking forward to the next chapter as your story gains steadily increasing fear for Margot's life.

Thank you so much, Carol. I'm so pleased you are still enjoying the story. Margot and Bessie have now got to write a list of possible murderers and another one to eliminate some. Warm hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra

Hope you feel better soon. My son and his family all went on vacation and spent the week in their room with covid. He said covid D is like a runny nose flu, not like covid at all.

This is full of surprises. Could the butler be the one who did it? If he's that devoted to Gwendolyn and had a hand in the deaths of Gwendolyn's husband and her father. Margot and Bessie will find a way to bring the truth to light. Margot finds a letter which may provide motive for killing Meg. Interesting scene with Lord Brandon and his wife. They both have the goods on one another, so all they can do is make threats. There's an attempt of blackmail on both sides, with threats and counter threats. Bessie is going to get the lowdown when the attorney shows up. Lots of excitement in this post.

Out of all the suspects, only the butler and Gwendolyn have actually killed before, but they had solid reasons for that, or, at least that's what they told each other. We can't take them off the list of suspects, though. It will be fun working through these. Thank you so very much for your wonderful review, and constant support. You are also very encouraging, which is so kind of you. Sending a big hug for the golden star, my friend!! Love and hugs Sandra xx

We meet Miles' mother! Is she a suspect?
A chapter in the book The Return
The Return Chapter 26
Sandra, Its amazing how you keep track of all your characters, which makes your story so intriguing. The part of the mysterious letter looks like there going to be more to be going on.
It looks like I better be patient and wait.

Is Miles' mother a suspect? She might be! Lol. But Bessie and Margot have to sort through what they've both discovered. Thank you so very much for this lovely review and the extra golden star, my dear friend. I really appreciate both. Warm hugs, Sandra xx

The plot gets thicker and thicker and seems to be most interesting, and at a point where there are many suspects in the stew pot now, how Bessie is Fortunate enough to be invisible and it seems to be needing many eyes in many places, to figure out the real murderer, what a cesspool, beautifully written Sandra, blessings Roy

Thank you so much for another lovely review, Roy. Yes, the more I researched the upper-class the more I realised they would stop at nothing to get what they want. I'm glad I didn't live in those times. Warm hugs dear friend. :)) Sandra xx

Yes, this is a mystery at its best, Sandra. Husband and wife threatening full disclosure and counter disclosure.
Ah-ha, adding Jenkins as a possible future suspect... what a turn!
And now ... Add Lady Brandon as a suspect as well. OMG and a randy one as well, according to her husband.
Keep 'em coming, Sandra! I learn so much from you about suspense.

Aww, bless you, Jay. I'm using some real life history of the upper-class back in those times, but with my touch, and names changed. You would be surprised at the things they got up to! They really were scoundrels.
