' Birdbath ', is short, succinct and delightfully descriptive. Penned with craft and skill. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review.

The author's words are lovely, descriptive, clear, nature based and
creative. I smiled when I read the last line. The poem flows and connects
well. The artwork goes well with both the theme and words of this poem.

Great poem! It reminds me of my dad who always called it a 'hen party' whenever mom got together with her lady friends. Birds are social animals, so maybe it wasn't as insulting as it seemed to me at the time. Nice Haiku. Thanks for sharing!

Linda,
I could see that the birdbath would be considered a spa for the birds. But how do you know they are all female birds? Some men go to spas.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Good luck in the contest.

Female cardinals are more brown in color than red. The males are usually mostly red. And, the male cardinals usually are there by themselves or there protecting a female. They don't have the 'spa' coordination of the females. I have a bedroom window which faces our backyard and there are two birdbaths and two feeders out there. I watch them every day. Linda

Linda,
Thanks for all the info about the actions of cardinals from your study.

Yes but the difference is, none of todays women would dare drink from the same water they bathed in. Can you even imagine the very thought. Now that I have put that out there, some free thinking group will probably promote that as the newest thing. Heaven help us.

Wildlife do things a bit differently than humans do although are seeming more and more like humans. Linda

"Women's club of sorts" :) This line made my day. Birds are truly like a clique of best friends/buddies gathered somewhere for a round of gossip.

Linda! You gave me the first laugh of the week- Thank You!!! And what do you mean 'of sorts'? That is exactly what we do when we get together! OK, well maybe not the bathing, but definitely the chatting! LOL
Thanks for sharing!
