Hello G,
This is, by far, the very best piece you have written, that I have seen at least, and it is you 'merely' ruminating on what to write about - I can only imagine what you will produce when you sit down to write, post-rumination.
You never know, "this" may be the purpose behind your journey, and yes, maybe you'll write it all. But first: start.
I totally connected with you here; *this* is writing - clearly the message is 'be yourself'.
cheers

You want to see the things I left out from this! lol
Some things are too close and other I don't factor so it's a bit weird. I'll see. Many thanks, mate. G

Bravely done, G. It reveals a lot about you. I would be shy of writing an autobiography for the reasons you have mentioned, but there is no doubt you have the material here if you feel so inclined. I'm sure it would turn out to be a great deal more interesting than most. The way you have written this more or less guarantees that. Good luck with it!

My style doesn't lend itself to a typical non-fiction piece, that's for sure. Can't help myself. lol Many thanks as always, Tony. G

Wow. I remember the news reports about the troubles in Northern Ireland but tolive through it must have been frightening. Thanks for sharing this G. I'm sure the writing of it brought it all back again, but I guess it's never too far away.

It seems you have some very dramatic stories to share, G. Your potential opening paragraphs assure us it will be anything but the type of memoirs most of us write. It will read more like fiction. I hope you do decide to write the book. Good luck in this contest.

Sometimes writing helps with the healing. If it is out there, it is released and not in you kind of thing. I don't usually write about myself either but I don't talk about myself as well. Only release I get is through fiction, probably why my stories are so dark lol. I would love to read about your life. Thank you for sharing and have a nice week.

A great opening that engages the reader. Planning plot points would be a good step. Since your life includes events from history it would be an informative and worthwhile read. The business about a cult would interest me. To start any religion, you have to be a charismatic leader. I suspect from your writings, you are just that.

It sounds like an exciting life.
Makes you want to live in a wood chipper, or meat grinder, or a witch's cauldron, or Woody Allen's head.
Maybe you should wear body armor and an inflatable life vest at all times.
Best wishes.

Good luck wishes regarding the Share Your Story contest, G. I found the picture to be rather interesting simply because I have no glue to what it is or what it represents. From me personally I would write all three of the stories. They would definitely add to your vast knowledge perhaps another L. Ron Hubbard 'Writers of the Future.' One can never tell, oh and one thing I have learned 'Never, say never.'

I love the writers of the future competition. I've entered four times and had honourable mention three now. It's good fun and it's three times a year. G

You are so welcome, G. I can only imagine how much fun you have.

You definitely have something to write about. I think one of the greatest challenges to writing an interesting autobiography is an ordinary life...that certainly doesn't seem to be your problem. You've had more than your share of compelling real life to share. I can certainly understand the difficulty in writing about those times. It's like living them all over again. The stream-of-conscious, spontaneous memory style of this piece takes a little getting used to, but it really suits the subject matter and you do it well. Good luck in the contest, you've got guts and grit. If you were asking me, and I know you're not, painful as it may be, I'd write it all...it might help you or someone else get a perspective on our place in the world and in history. It could also bring insight into life events many of us have never and hopefully will never experience. It could be a lesson in compassion.
