You've drawn our eyes to what must be seen... the juxtapositions that should never be. I very much appreciate your selection of adjectives to make this so clear and pointed. Thank you!

An aptly worded poem for a terrible tragedy. The institutions our tax dollars fund have failed citizens who care about their families, their neighbors and their communities. It's like we're feverting back to the wild west or something.
BTW....love the Six Feet Under idea. Very clever. Will have to give one a try!

Your poem has a very good quality. You write about a tragedy, but you do it tactfully, in a non-generic way. You allow your reader to imagine the scene in his/her head. Well done.

Thank you for sharing this heart-wrenching story. This is so sad. It is a crying shame. And I do not understand why guns would be made that can shot one-hundred bullets. It does not make any sense. Something has to be done about selling guns.

You are right, Carolyn..it's shameful. My son was at school when a racist sociopath killed 5 Vietnamese children.
Thank you very much for your exceptional review and kind words.

Another excellent and powerful poem, Gypsy, this whole thing is tragic and unacceptable, yet just yesterday there was another mass shooting--America's gone crazy

A very moving poem to the victims of Uvalde, Texas and a rebuke to those who failed them.
Very appropriate name for the theme of your poem.
Best wishes

Perfect form for any theme...of course so fitting for this! 21 souls stolen in Uvalde..and now another "active shooter" in Oklahoma today... It's unfathomable...

There's a lot of mourning imagery in your Six Feet Under poem. It makes me think of the recent burials of the children massacred in Uvalde. The little boy is distracted, looking for worms under stones. And that's another reminder of the decaying process. Sad poem and good contrast between the living and the dead.

Thank you very much, Helen. Yes I was trying to convey the sadness and pain of the funeral of a child. Is especially sad when it's the untimely death of a kid.
