Roy, I am blessed to know you. Your poetry is second-to-none, and none better than this, IMHO -- for ALL the reasons. It is a privilege to read your work. And thank you, too, for sharing your wonderful notes. We, your readers, glimpse a world beyond ours. It is such an honor!

Thank you, Roy, for sharing this thought. We certainly need the Lord to help us to forgive the ones responsible for what is happening in Ukraine, but we know we must. Great picture you have chosen.

The last stanza says it all. It tells of a blinder we are born within the flesh. This gives the avenue toward rebirth. Once born again peace comes beyond understanding until we suffer at the hands of others.

These stanzas are not just poetry - some exquisite language and reflective though- they also have a quality of prayer ultimately reminding us of the sheer power and effectiveness of FORGIVENESS-with reference to Jesus act of Forgiveness on the Cross - Forgiveness and its powerful impact is something we don't pay enough attention to in our world- I've read and reread this poem

Hello Roy,
Keeping in mind the Author Note, it's a nice piece of poetry having impressive phraseology, captivating flow throughout from the beginning to the end with lovely rhyming scheme, and beautifully depicting its theme.
The last two stanza are particularly noteworthy.

That pink coat stands out like the child's red coat in Schindler's List where the coat is followed all through the child's suffering until it ends up in a pile after the gas chamber.
Your powerful words remind us how hate and lies can survive and infest generations after generations and cause destruction and death.
Your world trips were an amazing opportunity and education.
Blessings

HI Roy, I see this picture...and read your poem...
and all I can do is cry...
what these poor children have been through...before
their lives have even started...I never in my life thought
I would live through anything like this...even in the USA as well...in any country...
I do believe the ones who did this have to answer for it...
and I leave that in God's hands...I wish I had the power to
stop it all...the only power I have...is to pray....and pray...
your poem is very well written my sweet friend...
and your picture says it all...love Linda xxoo

Absolutely incredible. You've written this so well. Obviously needless and heartbreaking subject matter, but so portrayed so beautifully. It's haunting in a way. I just love this poem. Thank you for sharing.

With the war and stuff going on it can be hard to love everyone and move past what they have done. This is a good reminder, for our everyday lives, that some things don't need to be made as big as we make them. Sometimes we do just need to let stuff go. There is certainly bigger stuff going on.

Hello Roy,
An excellent poem with very good word usage
in the descriptions and exact rhymes.
It's not the people that are the problem,
but the so called leaders who practice deception
and destroy lives and all hope.
I believe they must be held accountable
or the circle repeats over and over.
Best wishes.
