Everyone's lives were turned upside down roughly 2yr ago. I've lost three family members (not due to Covid-19) and their final transition was very much affected by the new rules. I know so many want to be done with the virus. Unfortunately, the virus isn't done with us. Almost 1million in the USA gone, and yet the selfish can't wait to hit the clubs and gyms and more. I feel for Addie and the other fellow. But most of all I feel for the Health Care Professionals who are still on the front line. Well Written, Well Done.

Thanks for the six! I'm so sorry you lost family members during this time. The rules affect everyone with a loved one in a hospital or care home, whether or not they have covid. Here we have idiots blocking boarder crossings wanting to remove all restrictions. It's insanity. You're right, as much as we want it to be otherwise, the virus isn't done with us.

I admire what you do so much. Here in Australia, the press has made us so aware of the plight of poor nurses and a section of them are actually staging a strike today. Your poem is skilfully written, with good rhyming and you make your point without over emphasising it. I am beholden to you.

Thanks. Covid has affected all of us in some way.

Many are thinking of the health care workers and how they work endless hours because of the pandemic. God Bless You for writing this poem. We do know how you feel.

Thanks for the six! Yes, the last two years have been hard on us all. I also feel for the ones who have lost their jobs and businesses.
Comment from Anne Johnston
Your poem paints a sad picture of what life must be like for those in the health care world. My heart goes out to these brave people who have risked their lives and the lives of their families during the past two years. I pray for them daily.

Thanks. I live alone, but I really feel for the staff with families. They took a big risk, especially for the vaccine. Yes, it's a hard job, but these vulnerable people are worth it.

You are welcome.

Thank you so much to you all. You have been severely overworked now for two years, underpaid and underappreciated, and you are turned on and shunned from all directions. It's a crying shame.

Thanks. I think mostly the ones who give us a hard time don't understand what's going on and have memory issues. We have to be understanding with them. But you're right about us being underpaid.

I'm not talking about being shunned etc. by your patients. I agree their attitudes are understandable. It's the powers-that-be that I think have their priorities wrong.

Cindy,
This is an exceptionally powerful poem about the toll Covid has taken most of all on the people who can't understand it, and those who care for them. It is perfectly written.

Cindy.
This simply rhymed and well metered poems tells the story of how hard it is to be a elder health care worker during the pandemic. It is sad how many patients didn't understand what was going on or the danger they were in. All health care workers are modern day heroes in my point of view. Thanks for what you did and are doing and your are right to take care of yourself.
Keep writing and stay healthly

This is a nicely written poem. Covid has so many challenges. I work in healthcare so I can truly relate to your words. It's certainly not easy. Great photo to compliment your words. Hard times for sure. I commend the healthcare workers and all they do.

Glad to see you still have your sense of humour! And thank you for everything you do. here's a little YouTube musical thank you as well https://youtu.be/xAt8Sbf08-o
I enjoyed your rhyming ditty which successfully combines humour with reality. Let's hope the end is not too far away. here in new Zealand we are just starting on the Omicron journey. Thankfully nearly everyone is fully vaxxed so our fingers are crossed it won't be too bad.

Thanks. I think a sense of humor is important or I'd go crazy. Hopefully the end is in sight and things will get back to normal.
