This is a great Haiku! For, not every poem like
this has rhythm that puts everything into perspective.
And paints a vivid picture for the reader. And that's
dope!! Keep writing. And Stay Connected

Your words say it all. I think this poem reflects a lot of feelings people can get when the sun rises. The Smoky Mountains are a gorgeous site and the picture you put with your poem made the words extremely meaningful. This was nice work!

Oh, I love it that you included that part of Psalm 139!! I always think of that verse when I am on an early morning airplane flight. Beautiful picture and what a great depiction of the Smokey Mountains in your verse!!

Gypsy,
I have seen those mountains at dawn. Your 5-7-5 entry reminds me of that visit years ago.
Possibly your mountains should be a proper name and capitalized. Of course, the image does not guarantee it is the Great Smoky Mountains although the source is Gatlinburg, TN.
Very nice overall presentation that provides a vivid image of that scene.

This whisks me away to those mountains of my family stomping grounds, if these are the smoky mountains of Alberta. My mom and dad grew up there.
Great wee poem

Great poem for the contest. The last line is wonderful: on the wings of dawn. Great imagery throughout the short verse and makes the images very vivid. Great Job.
