Thank you for sharing post. I enjoyed reading.

The cold nights and warm afternoons have worked their magic and on such a day, the green of the leaves has faded and the burnished golds, ambers, oranges and scarlets, the burgundies and purples that are the true colors of the trees around us paint the leaves like ornaments. (You just described why Autumn is my favorite season too.)

Thanks so much for the excellent review and your wonderful words of support for my piece. Autumn is my favorite time of year, so in some ways this was easy to write. estory

You have created a masterpiece of love, family and pure joy. I was there with you or wished I could be! I found a couple of spelling mistakes. 'Cassarole' should be casserole.
'...who have lived their...' should be there.
'...county stores are decked...' should be country.
Thank you so very much for sharing. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Franky

A really nice story about autumn. The sights, sounds, colors, smells, taste and much more covered in your vivid imagery. The memories of good times and place and people. Well done!

I agree with you, I've always thought that the Godliest season is autumn, not only in the apparent stability of the weather, but reflected in the glory in colour of the shed leaves, to me represent the death of Christ, without that death we could not be offered life. This is beautifully written and with such elegance, well done, blessings Roy

Thanks so much for the excellent review and your interesting perspective on the piece. I never really thought of autumn as a metaphor for Christ. More like spring or winter; but now that you mention it I do see it a bit. estory

All four seasons are a metaphor for the cross, like the four faces in the Isaiah, and the four gospels. His existence is under our vet noses. I missed that for 41 years of my life.
