I really liked these well explained idioms. I often say, 'needs must' but I didn't know the rest of it!! Now I'll be able to say it all. I must say, I loved that you researched it right through to the 1400s, and the English language, my goodness, hasn't it changed!! The other one, my nana used that idiom a lot. 'There be many a slip twixt cup and lip.' Thats how we said it. Lol. Well done, this was fascinating stuff!! Love and hugs, my dear SATP xxxx

    You are right. I should have put "twist." That's how we say it. I don't know why I didn't. Thanks, dear sister.
