The lawyer makes it sound like this case isn't going anywhere. These people don't seem to care about the children and they are only wanting money. If they realize they could lose and end up having to pay for her attorney and pain and suffering, maybe they will back off. It is interesting that Jeremy didn't eve consider asking his real grandfather to have lunch with him. I'm loving the story.

The nerve of these inlaws doing what they are trying. The boys should grow up with respect for them, but I doubt that happens with much guilds. Good post, Barb

Like every week, you leave me with a smile on my face waiting for the next chapter. It's always a pleasure to read your good, clean, real-to-life, stories without all the crudeness and shock factors that are in most these days. Thanks for sharing. Hope the doctor gives you a good report! I actually thought I gave you a six, or at least that was my intention. Now it won't even let me give you a six.

I hate to say anything because you gave me a glowing review. Did you mean to give me 4 stars??
-
Why of course not!!! I've never intentionally given anyone a four, and especially not someone who writes so well, and I enjoy reading so much. I apologize, and thank you so much for letting me know. I have no idea how that could have happened.
-
It happens to me. I have a rolling finger. LOL
-
I'm so glad you brought that to my attention. :-)
-
Not a problem. It gets embarrassing to bring it to attention because they person may actually wanted to give a 4, but it happens to me and when it does I don't mind fixing it.

-Thanks for sharing your updates,
barbara, and hope your appt. goes well.
-I don't think you could have divided
this chapter; it is well written and
flows well.
-You do a good job with the interview
between Katherine, Gabe, and the lawyer.
-It helps that he is a friend of Gabe's and
he seems like someone who cares.
-I think it went well, and you included
a few minor interruptions to show that
it is a normal household, as normal as
it can be with all young boys, and a
coach for a boyfriend.
-It shows a very solid family life, even
though Gabe and Katherine aren't married,
and the involvement with her parents
and his is also a plus.
-I enjoyed reading it, and the interview
with everyone should be quite something!
-Excellent job with the chapter.

I found this a particularly interesting chapter, Barbara. It tied a number of things together for me. I think I must have missed quite a few chapters at the beginning.
Several minor edits you might like to consider:
"Crisis adverted (averted)?"
I've also filed a counter(-)charge;
and can't prove any wrong doing (wrongdoing)
Chuckling(,) Gabriel said, "Right.
No matter how untrue or outrageous their comments are(,) you have to keep your temper
stretched her hand on the table top (tabletop)
After releasing (of) a deep breath, Katherine answered
"Nope. With him(,) it could be anything."
she took the football, set it in (a/the) chair, and held both his hands.
. "Stop. You're one of (the) most intelligent people I know."
All fairly minor, and no doubt your wrist injury isn't helping. Glad to hear it is gradually healing. I had to laugh at your husband's comments. Just the sort of thing I might have said! LOL

It is sad that Katherine has to go through these humiliating case .She is a caring mother and a hard worker.
If it is of any consolation, my 88 year old mother broke both her wrists and was completely cured.

Interesting chapter. I hate the fact that these two adults have to keep defending their relationship. I'll be glad when they can be together. And what on earth made hubby say that? LOL!

LOL, your hubby knew better than to say what he did. He deserved the silent treatment. Oh yeah! Onward...
I like the depiction of Troy, his concern for Gabe and Katherine, and his general competence. I do have a question that you may or may not want to address. When Gabriel explained the red rose in the vase to Troy while Katherine was out of the room, Troy alluded to it to Katherine while Gabriel was also out of the room. I thought it strange that Katherine didn't question that Gabriel shared something that she may have preferred left in confidence. Do you see what I'm saying? After Troy left, she didn't even ask Gabe about it.
Then again, I may be the only one to think the breach should have affected Katherine.
It doesn't take away anything from this 6 star read.

Another very fine chapter. These two are bringing out the best in each other, and the boys are all well cared for with great role models.
Had to laugh about your husband getting the cold shoulder for his comment - he really did put his foot in his mouth!! But I do hope your news is good, and that it heals quickly.

You couldn't have stopped this at an ealier part, it needed to be told all in one hit. I really enjoyed reading this, you gave us enough of a chapter to get our teeth into. I prefer longer parts. This one had such a natural flow to it, and I could easily see myself sitting and joining in the conversation. I can't wait to see those in-laws put down a peg or two, and then have to face paying the court costs, etc. Troy seems to be an alright lawyer, let him do his magic and have them put away. Well done, Barb. Warm hugs, Sandra xx
ps. I'm glad to hear your wrist is improving, but it will take longer to get it back to full strength. Take care!
