Through a child's eye, we do see magic. Often as adults, we do not stop to smell the roses - too much in hurry to get wherever!
Your selected artwork is paired nicely with your verse.
Best wishes in the contest voting.

The author's words are descriptive, filled with imagination and are
creative. I pondered on the words of this poem as I too like to look at
the clouds and envision images in them. The poem flows and connects
well. The artwork is perfect and compliments these words.

Summer skies appeal to most of us, often "firing [our] imagination" and making us kids again. You make me see those clouds "Splashed across a sea of blue." Rod

You sweep me back into my childhood! How entranced and enchanted I was with the shore, the waves, the briny taste on my lips and the enormous cloud "sculptures"--always morphing and changing...
Great tanka!

Your tanka is skillfully written and very expressive. It conveys a lovely, appealing message about maintaining our inner child. I'm pushing seventy, and I still love searching the clouds for shapes!

Thank you, Janice. I love the clouds. The sky is one thing you can count on changing from minute to minute. I find it facinating. I enjoyed your comments.

I enjoyed reading your contest entry. As a child and still as an adult I love to study the clouds and see what image I can find. It's harder in Texas because we rarely have clouds, but some days do. Thank you for sharing your poem and good luck.

Thank you Barbara. Yes I remember some parts of Texas can be hot, but not nearly as humid as here. I guess the humidity helps create the clouds.

This is so true. As a child I spent many lazy summer days watching the clouds move across the sky and pointing out the animal shapes I spied there. It was always fun for a while. LOL Well done, Beth. Love the picture. Good luck. Nancy:)
