I'm still enjoying your story. I read the last chapter and wrote a review but my computer had a hiccup and I lost it so this is two in one. When the neighbor lady showed up with chocolate chip cookies, I don't trust her because she wants to buy the winery at all cost. So when she brought the cookies I was afraid they were poisoned. This was another great chapter! xxoo Patty

I can't seem to keep up with life in general, writing, reviewing and reading. I think Myrtle and Millie have me beat for sure. LOL
Thanks for the review and your kindness. Smiles, Carol

A lovely, romantic scene with Hank and Emmy, Carol. But then the rain begins and produces the shady characters. You've left Hank and Emmy sheltering in the woods, and brought Mason to the door at the winery? More trouble brewing. Well done.

This chapter is well written, and I sense a heightened pace just entered the story. I continue to enjoy the well-developed characters as the story progresses and gets more intense.

I wonder what brought Mason Caldwell to the Sweet Haven estates, and leaves with a convenient appearance of Miguel, I wonder what he's up to, I don't think he plays casual visits, perhaps he did have a flat tyre. Beautifully written friend Carol, blessings Roy

The story is getting complicated. I feel each character has some axe to grind, so to say. I enjoy reading your writing and how with ease you describe the scenery. The dialogue takes the story forward. Good going!

Another interesting chapter, and an enjoyable read. I wish Liz was not being so hospitable to everyone! It will land her in trouble. the FBI protection is there for a reason. Looks like Mason C will have to return for his car - a pity he didn't carry a spare tyre with him! Thanks for another fine read.

Another great chapter in your book! I'm so enjoying reading this. 2 small suggestions: I'm always interested in buying properties, especially ones (no apostrophe). ...the golden sun painted the valley with its golden rays (eliminate one golden).
Wouldn't it raise suspicion if Miguel calls Mason "boss" in front of the others, since the window is still down? Maybe that will be addressed in your next chapter. I'll wait for that. Good writing, as usual. Blessings.

No! You are very important too! When yu take the time to read and review, I can find the time to say thank you. Might be short and sweet, but it will be appreciated. Smiles

Shouldn't someone be suspicious that Mason knew Miguel by name? It's good that Allie was there to intervene when he offered to buy the place. I liked how Hank and Emmy can mingle their time of affection and still talk work.
One comment about the "lush, green hills." California is euphemistically called the "golden state" for the brown hills. Even in Napa, the hills are brown most of the year. Have you been to Napa?

I have never been there but I researched it and every photo that I have found shows green everywhere in the hills, valleys, and vineyards. Now the pictures may be old and firest, drought and life might have moved in, but I much prefer the thought of green.

Everyone prefers green! Lol. If you see pictures of the Pacific NW, they show a sunny day and it's rarely sunny. Lol.

The plot thickens! Chilling ending. I was hoping Cassidy would be there to confront Mason.
Sugg: include some details of the picnic lunch.
"Miguel, if you're going through town, would you mind if I hitched a ride? I've got a flat tire," Mason inquired.
SUGG:
