At least the cookies weren't poisoned! The dialog and interactions are superb--they move the narrative along briskly--grabs and holds. Cynthia is devious!

Whew! That was a close call. Good for Allie to come up with the same cover that Darryl did. Hope they can keep a consolidated front against that neighborhood snoop.
Question:
While Allie kept Cynthia company, (When did Allie keep Cynthia company? I would think Allie should stay away from Cynthia and keep Cassidy safely hidden, too! Did you you mean "Cassidy" instead of Cynthia here?)

It was an error and it should have said Cassidy. I thought I changed it immediately after the first review, but I guess not. I will check again. thanks for telling me.
Thanks so much. Smiles, Carol

I could have been working off the old copy. I bring up several posts at once and review the shorter ones first. 😊

Cynthia is evil, and it would be best if Liz makes a stand against her visits. The fact that she knows about the child is a real worry. I hope they decide to check why Miguel needed to stop at the church too! Seemingly not important to them to wonder, but we know about Jon! Excellent chapter.

Great chapter! I just hope Cynthia's cookies aren't poisonous. Good dialogue throughout this chapter. I like the banter between Hank and Emmy. Looking forward to the next segment. Blessings. Carol

Ha! I love the character you built up with Cynthia. She's feisty and doesn't give up when she's on the scent of something. Speaking of scent, you had to mention chocolate chip cookies, didn't you, Carol? I don't need another ten pounds of Covid weight, LOL. This is a good chapter. You do a good job with Hank and Emmy, as well. Their love for each other shows through. I didn't see any spag.

Good day, Jay! How kind of you to stop by and read a chapter of my story. Your thoughts mean a great deal to me so the review was spectacular... especially since you understood and liked my characters. Thank you so much and hope all is well with you.

Cynthia can't help herself, a women of strong temperament who eats up strong FBI tough men for breakfast and them spite out the pips afterward. Judy love your story, the dimensions are very cleverly written, with all the characters all coming to connect when you wave your cunning writer's wand, well done Carol, blessings Roy
Typo : Allie will (be) whip up a meal or two.

How awesome that you both are reading and loving it. That makes me very very happy. I am thrilled that you think I have this magic wand...actually I am terrified each time I post wondering if it's good enough.
Thank you again. Smiles and hugs, Carol

You're doing a great job with this, Carol. So many little scenes that create tension and suspicion. It's too bad that Liz gives Cynthia any chance to visit at all. That was a close call. Well done!

I enjoyed reading but there's a area that's confusing.
While Allie kept Cynthia company, Liz enjoyed the quiet time by reading in the rose, (Where did Allie go when Cynthia was trying to bring the cookies to Liz???) & Allie exited the house carrying a tray with three glasses of iced tea. (What? Where did Alli come from?)

My goof! Allie was with Cassidy in the rear bedroom. Sorry.... Thanks for catching that before anyone else. Appreciate it. Fixed!
i should know better than to have two people with the same initial... My brain can't comprehend at times.
