Thank you for sharing this poem. It reminds me of the old days when life was simple and in my opinion much better. I could picture a Norman Rockwell painting as I read.
Wakening the next morn by the crowing call of the Wellsummer rooster, (because this a poem and poetic license may be in effect, but it should be the following morn because of definition, but I am NOT a poet, so it may be different.)

Thank you for the lovely free verse about farm memories. It sounds like you have very clear memories of a life on the farm and these are recorded with sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of childhood on the farm.

I enjoyed the tale you recounted in your "Free verse" poem. It reminded me of my own journey home to visit the family and taste Mumma's famous apple pie. Except that she isn't there any more and nor is Dad. The glue that held the family together is gone and sadly we who remain, don't get together very often these days. Great job. I wish you luck in the contest. PM

A really enjoyable read taking the reader for a stroll down memory lane as childhood happy days are recalled with an annual trip to Creekstone Farm and the many delights that await

This brought me thoughts of going to my grandparent's farm. I did romp and play, but like you took up farm tasks and reveled in the work. You have taken us on a journey of nostalgia and you did it splendidly.

This Free Verse poem carries us back to the days of anticipation when we looked forward to a sojourn into the country. The thought of visiting our Grandparents/or whoever, in that wonderful environment and the imagery you have created of the enjoyable activities and meals, is a heartfelt reverie.

Stop! I am so nostalgic and jealous right now, that I cannot stand it. Are you kidding me. From age eleven to age thirty, I lived in Detroit, but my mom who grew up on a farm in the South, cooked like she was still living on a farm and so much of the food you mentioned was a staple in our home. During my younger years I spent much time on my grandmas farm as well.

Ahh, Nomi that is too precious! Thanks so much, there is nothing that can replace those so carefully crafted meals made with that secret ingredient a mothers love. Which obviously your mother learned from her mother.. the gift that keeps giving....
