This specific Haiku speaks vividly a scene of loneliness in a night in a bird's eye view, view is clear at each point of view; well said, well done; thanks for sharing this. ALCREATOR

Comment from Dolly'sPoems
An atmospheric write and birds can sometimes remind us of loneliness as they fly solo and it is only when they are paired that we have that sense of romance, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Hello Gypsy.
Exceptional haiku you have here.
Your use of the word "vacuous" as well as your satori..."sound of loneliness" is the
stroke of genious.
Since you describe no sound at all, the egret's silence is what makes this so special.
I feel you nailed this one.
Take care

A wonderful haiku, Gypsy, you are a known expert on the form.
I saw an egret yesterday on a tree near the pond I see from my Florida room. They are so elegant, these birds.
Thank you for sharing, another masterpiece.

Egrets are such beautiful birds. They are probably like herons who like to be alone. Perhaps the "long vacuous night" won't be too long for him as the loneliness could be a help in hunting. Cool picture!
