Never had any boys or girls that would challenge a teacher with pranks; well Miss Flint did have a number of tacks placed tip-up placed on her chair. Whether or not it had anything to do with her habit of pointing and scratching with the middle finger of her right hand, giggles flourished when it was her belly.

These three incidents were conflated--Mrs. Tats was my sub--Chuck did the Venitian blind stunt, and my ex husband did the upside down stunt They probably upended the clock too!

You were in a wilder school than any I attended.

Mrs. Tats should probably have not suggested turning the room upside down. That appears to be a faux pas on her part, however, the rest of the pandemonium can certainly be attributed to those who produced it. Congratulations boys.

Hilariously awful Liz
And what did the mischievous girls do?
Boys will be boys.
Watch those in the oval office,
They are so square.
And they swing the world and whack it against the walls.
In so boring...:-))Z.

Those days were so crazy. Who were these boys trying to impress? Why is it so imperative at that age that we show a fearless front and do such stupid things? Who knows?

"Boys will be boys," as the saying goes. And most never grow up. They just keep most of their antics hidden or blamed on someone else. Or we live from our La-Z-Boy, imagining all the things we could be getting into if we weren't so old and tired. Thanks for sharing.

Very creative boys who took things a little too far. The unfortunate name of the teacher added to the carnival.
Well told story of what trouble boys can get into.
I enjoyed the story.

I am shocked that during that time period in education those boys weren't suspended from school, permanently. In my hometown they would've been. In today's world no, but would've been sent to an alternative school, at least in Texas. Thank you for sharing.

Liz,
Some boys are far too smart for their own good. If they would apply so much genius to their studies they could be amazing. hahahahaha But then, there would be far fewer school legends...
Fun!

Haha, what a group of boys. I enjoyed reading this and had to laugh at the name and the way the boys mispronounced it, Liz. Damon's antics should not have gone that far--seems he got way without any other discipline. The desk issue was weird--how? When?
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

One has got to at least to admire not only the grittiness of boys, but that wasted dimension of clever plotting. My wife, being a teacher has many such stories of misplaced use of clever pranks, beautifully written Liz, blessings Roy
