I like this scene. I did get a chuckle at Cililla saying shit, shit, shit when piddley poo appears, I mean what else would you say about poo? Lol. I think this means Cornelius isn't making progress toward the future, he's unwillingly, or maybe willingly, backsliding. I can't wait to see what happens between him and Jennie. Although I still think his only love is music.

This scene was rather content-light, but the next one promises much more. I'm glad you enjoyed this and want to come back.

This is another excellent chapter, Jay. A connection seems to be building between Cornelius and Jenny Ajax, but maybe it disturbs Cornielius, which brings Pidely-Pooh back into his mind. I'm sure you'll soon take us on that journey to enlightenment.

Yes, Judy, you won't have long to wait. The next scene will present a showdown, of sorts with Pidely-Poo and Cililla-- with Cornelius's mind being the tetherball.

Hi Jay, I loved this new scene to your script and story. I can't see the directions being too much. They make the scene come to life so I can visualise it. What I do think Is that Mr Hallows may not have Cornelius' best interest in mind. Ulla:)))

Ah, yes, about Mr. Hallows. I fear I didn't present him as well as I should have. As an empath, he feels Cornelius too deeply, and personally to be helpful.
Comment from BethShelby
I think all of this stage direction is good for someone reading the play. If it were actually being acted out a lot would be lost on the audience. Cililla isn't at all happy to see Pidely-Poo. It is supposed to be her turn to comfort Cornelius.

Thank you Beth for reading this, as always. I agree, this is a play written for reading, not acting out. Next scene promises to be more character driven.

As you confirmed in your notes, your stage directions are so detailed. In writing a script, how much should a writer used in giving a surmountable stage of physical action of the actor in a scene? Is this an author's choice?
Enjoy your work as always.

Thanks, Tpa, for your input. This is definitely a play to be read, not acted out. No director would touch it, I'm afraid.

I find it strange that Pidely-Poo can come back into the story in the presence of Cililla. I had understood the two to be mutually exclusive. Some explanation is needed for me here I am afraid.

Ah, thank you, Katherine. No, I don't conceive of Cililla and Pidely-Poo being mutually exclusive. Cililla came on scene after a period of inactivity by Pidely-Poo. I will have to defer until next scene, Katherine. I'm working on it now. The function of the two for Cornelius will be better understood next week.

I can see why you needed all the stage directions. I am not sure this MR. HALLOWS really has CORNELIUS best interest at heart. I am worried about him. I'll hold off judgement until later.

You are the second person to mention Mr. Hallows. I'm not happy with my presentation of him for this scene. Any reader who reads this scene will be applauding the school district for forcing him into retirement. It's a shame. He's an empath. He feels Cornelius more deeply than anyone except Cililla. I'm going to have to work on him.

Inclining her head - Do you mean up and down because that's how I take this but I do work on treadmills often and that's what the incline function does lol - Perhaps tilting instead?
This was the only small note I found, I otherwise really enjoyed your script writing. Keep up the excellent work. Later daze.

Thank you. Tilting indeed! And I think I may have used that phrase twice. Thank you for pointing it out, Daze. LOL, Inclining. As Cililla would say, Shit, shit, shit!

I guess we are all guilty of not taking into consideration how our words, tones, and volume can affect those around us. And then, what happens next. Thanks for sharing.

And thanks for reading, Ric. Be on the lookout for next week's scene. It promises to be a doozie.

I find this compelling reading. I seem to have missed the earlier one. Your story is amazing, The boy appears to be a genius and I wonder how he is going to nurture his talent and take it to the next level. Thanks for sharing. Exquisite writing. That is a reading experience for me.

Yes, Seshadri, you've hit upon what's been at the back of my mind: how to show Cornelius taking his genius to another level. Thank you for reading this. I think you'll find next scene to be especially rewarding.

Looking forward to it!:)
