Hello Sandra,
You've captured the intensity of the moment very well, though Peanut certainly helped things out by arriving so quickly. I'm surprised Tania knew what to do.
Pretty good job for an inexperienced amateur.
I thought the intensity of the hurricane was good foreshadowing.
Perfect ending. :)
Well done!
Best wishes.
Robert
I'm sure Rapier will appear soon, but not even James Bond could fly from England and take a boat to a remote island in a storm as powerful as you've described. He'd drown at sea, which might be a good thing. LOL

Thank you so very much for this lovely review, and for that sixth golden star, Robert!
They didn't have midwives down the coalmines, lol. When push comes to shove (LOL) so long as there are no complications, the baby knows what to do and where to go. All Tania did was use her common sense and keep everyone calm. In a situation like that I think most women could do it. You'd have no choice.
I'm glad you liked the ending, seeing a new-born baby, watching it come into the world, is amazing. My mother stayed with me when I had my eldest son.
You are completely right about Rapier not being able to get through this hurricane. Even Superman would have his work cut out for him. Hmm, so...... :))
Thank you again, my dear friend. Warm hugs. Sandra xxx

Ah, those sleeping maternal feelings - they catch up with most of us in the end, don't they? Another super chapter, Sandra, and one that rings true from start to finish. You've obviously helped someone give birth, or done enough research to write so eloquently about the subject. I might have seen a few deliveries on 'Call The Midwife' but I wouldn't have a clue what to do if it happened to me. Correction, I might have an idea now I've read this very informative chapter!
I'm looking forward to the next chapter with baited breath...

I think given the situation, anyone would do it if it meant saving mother and baby. The mum does most of the hard work, we just shout at them to PUSH! Lol. Thank you so much for the lovely review, Alexa, and those beautiful stars. I really have a big smile on my face. Sending you a humongous hug, my dear friend. :))) Sandra xx

I love a happy ending and the whole birth scene was just that. It's lovely to see that Grant and Tania both have feelings for each other; Tania just needs to be less self-doubting. At least we didn't have to worry about the bad guy finding them yet! That's more for us to look forward to. Hope your unpacking has been coming along smoothly and you're feeling a bit more settled. Have a lovely week :) Sally

The calm before the storm, in more ways than one. (If you can say being in labour is calm!! LOL) Watch out for the next part, it's an explosive one. :)) Thank you so much, Sally, for another fabulous review and for another galaxy display of stars. Your support has been amazing. Sending you a humongous hug, my friend. Have a lovely day, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Hello Sandra.
The story reached a critical point during this hurricane and childbirth. We now know what's really going to be happening between grant and Tonia. the comments and the gestures between them have sealed that deal. Peanut's in the world and all is well.
now we can begin planning for the wedding because it looks like that road has been paved.

A good continuation chapter, Sandra. Tania really comes up in her delivering the baby that Latifah was in labor with. Tania really keep her head on her shoulders in all the aspects of birth. Grant and Peter needed Tania's direction and Latifah needed her support. Together they all delivered a beautiful baby girl who they all thought of 'Peanut'. She finally fell apart in the kitchen, Grant loves her and she just needs to accept this as truth. Very well done. Hugs, blessings and smiles.

It will happen, Alie, she loves him too, but neither knows the other one's feelings. That saying, 'Love is blind,' can be interpreted several ways. Thank you for another lovely review, my friend. I'm so pleased you enjoyed reading it. Warm hugs. Sandra xxx

You are most welcome Sandra, this is so enjoyable. Hugs Alie.

This chapter read well, Sandra. You did a good job with both the hurricane and the arrival of the baby. I'm happy that Tania was there to help deliver the baby as the men seemed dumbfounded. It will be interesting to read about the time they re-emerge from the shelter and see the effect of the hurricane. I like the feelings Tania has about the baby and the prospects that maybe she will be a mother in time.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Thank you so much, Jan, I'm so pleased you thought this came across well. I didn't want to put too much detail in, just incase there are some pregnant ladies on here expecting their first baby. After my first child, I swore, never again. It didn't last. Lol, number two came almost three years later, and I wouldn't trade either of them in. Warm hugs, my dear friend. :)) Sandra xxx

How exciting! There's truly nothing like delivering a baby. I've never worked in a delivery room, but I was able to be there when my grandchildren were born, even for one C-section. It was amazing.

Thank you so much, Cindy, I'm so pleased you enjoyed this part. Let's hope the hurricane is over soon so they can get Latifah to the hospital.
My mother stayed with me when I was in labour with my eldest son, she said it was amazing, too. My husband was walking up and down in the car park! Lol. Thanks again, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Oh, my God, you ended this in a real cliff-hanger. Try to keep your readers from whining at you over the next week to get the next chapter out.
Below are my notes I made as I read along.
Tears streamed down her cheeks as she looked into the baby girl's tiny angry face. ["Angry" is a special adjective to use with this!]
'She certainly did! [Consider after this sentence putting the tagging sentence, "Peter's eyes were welling up, and he quickly brushed them away." Otherwise, the long sentence you now have: "Thank you, Tania, there are no words I can think of that are adequate enough to describe our feelings.' leave the reader scrambling through his mind to figure who is saying it, Peter or Latifah. The reader finds out soon enough, but why draw him/her away from the flow even for a few seconds?]

Thank you so very much, Jay, for this really helpful review. I will sort those out. I can see what you are saying. Why is it always so clear when seen by others and not by myself? Hmm. I'm really happy you enjoyed this part. Sending you a big hug for the lovely sixth star! :)) Sandra xxxx
I went to see if I'd read your posting, and it was as you thought, I had read and reviewed it. I read it again to remind myself, though. It's a brilliant piece. Well done, my friend.

Sometimes it takes another set of eyeballs to see what we would hope we'd have seen ourselves.

Having three children of my own, I wasn't a rookie at the birthing process. But having to assist a young lady in the backseat of a car before the ambulance could get there was an experience I'll never forget. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, I'd really like to read about that! What an experience that must have been for you and the lady in the backseat. You must write it down! Thanks so much, dear Ric, for reading this part, and well done for being there with your wife when she delivered you three babies. Aww, aren't babies lovely? Warm hugs, dear friend. :)) Sandra xxx
-
Yes, babies are lovely, warms hugs and giggles. Ex-wives, not so much. LOL.
-
LOL! Ex-wives! As in plural?? Lol, Ric. You are incorrigible, but I still love you!! xxx
-
Yes, I've had two wives. The first, when I was very young. And a second, when I should have been smart enough to have known better. :-) ((HUG))
-
Lol, I'm not saying a word. We all do silly things when we are young. I did the same. My parents didn't want me to marry him, but I thought I knew better. My wonderful marriage lasted 3 months, that's all it took before he was out chasing other girls. We live, and hopefully, learn. :))
