I remember the Kai Zita chapter and she's even more mysterious since Tommy never heard of her. Perhaps he knows her by another name?
I agree - we were never told the real history. We could learn so much about how to care of the land from the Native peoples. In Australia, there is still that controversy about whether to have those controlled burns to avoid that massive fire that they had last year. Great information in your dialogue here.
