I've noticed, Liz, that you have become quite the spokesman for members and products on this site as of late. Curiosity begs me to ask what kind of commission you might be raking in and is it worth my while to look into this as well. Member dollars would be the best payout in my opinion, but since you have the inside track maybe you have better knowledge. Waiting to hear from you...Smiles, Carol
Someone shoot me if anyone takes this seriously! LOL!

Commission! Very funny.
I began with the "nit-picky" bit as a device to lull the readers, at risk of boring those not interested in finer points of usage , in order to enhance the shock factor.
Debbie consulted a lawyer to see if she has any recourse; she'd have to petition the court for "custody"--unlikely, she lives out of state.

You do know I was casting a bit of humor on you, right? I certainly wasn't serious. LOL

Even if I hadn't known you were kidding, you gave it up in your P.S.

Your title should actually say the "behalf" part because I have noted your use of "in behalf of Lauren" in a prior post and was duly educated. So I'm thankful for that. Okay, also said a prayer for Debbie and her mom.
Last line:
It is both in and on Debbie behalf (Debbie's)

I intentionally construed the title sans usage reference to speak to the real point of the piece.

I don't know whether to laugh or to cry at this tale; perhaps I should do both. This is a terrible situation, and I understand (having been through family power plays and drams before) the turmoil that Debbie must feel in her gut - and her heart. She's in my thoughts.

I feel bad for Debbie.
Nice work. As always!

You did a great job, Liz, explaining these phrases in a way that all can easily understand. Your examples are great--I like that they are real life ones. It is a sad situation for Debbie and her mother at this point in both of their lives when they need all the support they can get. I will pray for both.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Indeed. Debbie consulted a lawyer to see if she has any recourse; she'd have to petition the court for "custody"--unlikely, she lives out of state. Thanks Jan!

That is scary and I understand everyone's concern. Someone referred as Susan the terrible who is anxious for her inheritance from a 96 year old needs someone work in her behalf whether she realizes it or not.

Sadly, this situation is ongoing all over the world. One of the kindest women I ever knew didn't want to wait until her death to start disbursing everything to her four children. A wealthy woman, she set up some trusts, sold-off numerous properties and, signed over others including the home she lived in. Within the year, her children sold the remaining properties, including the home she lived in, and moved her into a nursing home. She didn't even rate assisted living, and her mind and body are in better shape than most 40-year-olds. Thanks for sharing.
