Carol,
Mom's always gotta be on her toes, that's for sure. Dad does not always have the same thinking skills. Wonder why? Anyway, the partnership tends to work pretty well. I think God knew what he was doing. *smile*
Nice story!

Especially in that marriage...He was focused on "work" and was one of the best... but home life... commonsense wasn't part of his name. LOL thanks for the review. Smiles, Carol

This story has a brilliant ending. The quick thinking escape, allows all to save face, and results in an outing that creates some wonderful family time, even if it was not the expected outcome of what started out, ad breakfast in bed. Clever solution, mom. Creative storytelling.

Kids really do try to please. This is a nice story about how real life differs from TV sitcoms and commercials. But what is most important is the love kids give. Great little piece of flash.

Raw eggs still turn my stomach, but it's a great memory since Mikey isn't here anymore. I guess he made sure I wouldn't forget him...which would be impossible. Thanks for the review. Smiles, Carol

Did you have a nice day? How's Whip doing?

Oh. Ewww. Nice of you not to hurl at raw eggs, even of lovingly presented! (I would have been green in the gills!)
Fast thinking...it comes second nature to moms!
Good diversion!
Had to chuckle that hubby was assigned the "get 'em ready" job!
A fun read...

When it came to "work" and his Italian friends, he was the best.... when it came to managing or helping with our family he was always out to lunch. It gave me pleasure to assign him the job. Smiles, Carol

Delightful--Isn't it great when you come up with such a brilliant twist of the knife. Wry humor and graphic description of "breakfast." Perfect comeuppance to the dick.

Yes, he deserved it! Wasn't much of a family man...he was married to his work 24/7 and when he tried it would always backfire. thanks for reading. Smiles, Carol

First, this is written well. Not a period missing or any issues. You say it is based on a true story. Then I guess there is truth behind all clichés about families being dependent on mom for everything.
Good work.

Our family certainly was...Dad was married to his work 24/7. I never knew how someone could be so smart at a job and a zero when it came to common sense. He still attends all the family functions but that's because i do all the planning at my house. Smiles, Carol

Love this Mothers' Day story. How well you met the challenge! Difficult at the time, but it does bring a smile now! As well as a good story. Thanks for posting!

Hi Wendy...Yes, raw eggs turned my stomach so bad...It's really funny now especially since I no longer have Michael and remembering things he did. Have a great day! Smiles, Carol

It's great when we can look back at pleasant memories of the times we want to always remember. Time travels so fast that everything becomes a memory within minutes. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, having memories since my little man is gone is a great relief. He left me with many of these memories. Smiles, Carol

This is a cute story. Children are so precious and caring and whatever their gift might me we have pretend we are thrilled. I guess your husband might have given them a bit more guidance, but since he didn't he got to pay to pay for everyone breakfast.

He never gave guidance. I was always the one to tell them what was right and wrong, what they could do or couldn't. Him getting stuck paying at a kids place was awesome. Smiles, Carol

Sounds like an excellent plan to me, Carol. I enjoyed your fun little story. You did a great job retelling it. I could see everything--your adorable 'babies', your husband as he waited for your to solve the issue, and the fun solution.
May I suggest-- edible instead of eatable [I know your choice].
Thanks for the fond memory shared.
Respectfully, Jan
