Reminiscing with our old friends, wherever it might be, is a good time. At least for a while, if there is no alcohol or exes involved. LOL. Sorry, just couldn't help myself. Thanks for sharing.

You must have been reading my mind. Seriously, we do like the same artists and songs. It would be hard for me to pick a favorite by Rick Nelson. Good job on the tribute, including the background.

Well done Sally. I read, somewhere that he had grown his hair long and started his set with The Rolling Stones " Honky Tonk Women" when he was performing for this crowd. Enjoyed your facts about Ricky Nelson especially those pertaining to him attempting to change his boy next door image. Great work.

Yes I realize he was trying to change his boy next door image possibly going to far. I don't see him as a Rolling Stone. It's best to be authentic to yourself even if you are changing your style. I'm so glad you enjoy it and I appreciate you stopping by so so much. Sending along my very best, Sally XOs...

You're welcome Sally.

Shame he died the way he did. Excellent entertainer, many hits but the drugs took him downward; he loved the song. I danced to his music with my honey many a day. Good one, Sal. keep them Rolling. Good memories.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review and generous six stars. I appreciate that so much. It is a shame how he died and I really didn't want to focus on that too much. I do understand how someone so talented can do this to their lives with addictions. My father was such a one and ended his life ended in tragedy.
Sending along my very best as always, Sal :)) XOs...

He was more popular in the states, and very talented. His death was very tragic. I'm so glad you enjoyed it and I really appreciate you stopping by to check him out.
Sending you my best today as always,

Good choice. And what a looker! (Did I say that out loud?!) Yes, his music was great, and the Garden Party lyrics also, wise and true. You can't please everyone, and need to remain true to yourself. Thanks for sharing this well-written tribute.

What a looker? You must be from Australia. My Aussie friend Valda used that term all the time. He was and still is. You are in good company here. Thank you for the wonderful review and generous compliments, Wendy dear.

Ha, yes, I am Australian. I didn?t realise that that was another of ?our? expressions! I knew a Valda when I was young. Not a common name over here.

I thought so! I have some more "Lookers" in the lineup. Blessings dear, Sal XOs..

Thank you for this trip down Memory Lane. I remember this song and when I was a little kid, I remember a black and white TV show where the couple slept on separate twin beds, that must have been Ozzie and Harriet. How fun! Thanks for sharing and thanks for the wonderful tribute to our phenomenal poetess, Gloria!!

Hello Sal.
I remember way back when I sat watching our 19 inch black-and-white TV when Ozzie and Harriet and bring their family on the show. You are right about the shows not needing any warnings because they were wholesome. That wholesomeness is lacking from virtually all entertainment these days.
Garden party was definitely Ricky's best effort. The only thing I recall about it was it was a "payback" on that occurred during one of his concerts at Madison Square Garden.

Thank you for the lovely review and personal comments. You are right in every aspect. We've slid down a slippery slope. Even music has explicit warnings these days. Yikes! Sending you my best today as always,
Sal :))

You're welcome Sal. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. We we are starting back to in-person church on the 16th. I won't be teaching my Bible classes on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 by zoom anymore.

I remember that one very well. I always thought it was a jab at something. Yep, he's right. You gotta please yourself. It wasn't one of my favorites, but it was still pretty good.

Poignant reminiscence, considering he was killed in a plane crash shortly thereafter. Stunning song, compelling message. Your tribute to Ricky is beautifully rendered.
